Prof. Dr. Halil Ibrahim Bekler was born in Istanbul in 1960. He completed his primary school education in Istanbul. He finished High School in Saint-Joseph in 1979. In 1985 he graduated from the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. In the same year, he started to work as a resident doctor at Tokat Akbelen Health Center. Between 1987 and 1991, he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at SiSli Etfal Hospital. Between 2006-2007, he worked as a Hand and Microsurgery Specialist at Columbia University School of Medicine. In 2008, he became an associate professor of orthopedics at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine.
