He was born in Istanbul in 1982. He graduated from Kocaeli University, Faculty of Medicine. In 2012, he worked as an emergency medical assistant at Taksim First Aid EAH.
Between 2013-2018, he specialized in general surgery at Haseki EAH. Then, between 2018-2020, he completed his compulsory service at Bitlis Tatvan State Hospital.
Since 2020, with Dr. Hasan Lice, they have worked with the Sava team for bariatric surgeries. He is married and has two kids.
He is also the deputy chief physician of the hospital.
In 2007 he joined the Costa del Sol Hospital and left this position when he obtained an international scholarship that would take him back to San Francisco. In 2010 he moved to Japan to complete his training in the submucosal endoscopic dissection technique that he would later on introduce in Andalusia in 2011, thus becoming one of the pioneers in the performance of this technique in Spain. In 2011 he became the first medical professional in the world to use the 15-mm AXIOS stent in pancreatic fluid collection drainage. In 2018 he began to perform gastroenteroanastomosis with luminal apposition stent in patients with pancreatic cancer and bowel obstruction, thus becoming a pioneer in Andalusia to perform such technique.
He is a coauthor of the reference guides of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy on the endoscopic treatment of chronic pancreatitis and non-variceal gastrointestinal haemorrhage.

In 2017, he trained at the Amsterdam Academic Medical Center in techniques such as endoscopic submucosal dissection, endoscopic mucosal resection, diffuse esophageal spasm, and endoscopic full-thickness resection for treating early-stage gastrointestinal system tumors. He also received training in high-resolution manometry and POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy) for diagnosing esophageal diseases like achalasia. Dr. Osman Aktas has been serving as a general surgeon at Ataşehir Avicenna Hospital since 2005. Born in Kayseri in 1960, he graduated with his medical degree from Ankara University in 1983.
