Mr. Ahmet Bekin, if you run into him, know that you’re lucky—and take advantage of that chance. Never, ever go looking for another adventure. Don’t be afraid of closed (laparoscopic) hernia surgery. With open hernia surgery, you can be very, very afraid—your choice.
Now I can tell you my story. On September 22, in Balıkesir, at a public hospital, they called it a “simple hernia surgery,” so, based on the doctor’s own decision, I had an open left groin hernia operation. I could have had a closed surgery, but in public hospitals the doctors do open surgery because it’s easier for them and it doesn’t take long. What happens to the patient afterward is what matters to the patient. Never, ever make any surgery seem “simple.” And my advice to you is: in a groin hernia, don’t have open surgery unless it’s truly necessary—and my advice again is to have your surgery with a doctor you trust in a public hospital.
I’m a thousand times regretful. I went through a very difficult process. For 10 days I was bent in half, and I kept having trouble even getting to the bathroom. After 10 days, my stitches were removed. Because I was feeling very bad, an ultrasound, blood tests, and a urine test were done, and they said there was no problem—but I still wouldn’t heal, and my pain only got worse. On the 14th day, at a private hospital, I learned via ultrasound that there was another hernia, and they told me I would need to have surgery again. When I heard that, I started crying, because only I know how hard the process had been. The thought that I would go through the same thing again—getting another surgery—completely ruined my psychology.
I went back to the doctor at the state hospital. They said, “Let’s do a contrast CT (with medication); we’ll get a clear result from that,” and it turned out that there was another hernia. Of course, at that point I could not trust them and have surgery there again.
During that time, I constantly researched online and I reached DR. AHMET BEKİN’s videos. He was so explanatory, and he spoke in a way we could understand—without “turning it into something else” like some other doctors—so I gained trust. I said, “Okay, I found my doctor. I will absolutely have my second surgery done by Ahmet. ” And I went to Istanbul.
Exactly 1 month passed, and I had my second surgery done by Dr. Ahmet Bekin in a closed way with 3 holes in my abdomen. I stayed in the hospital one night. The next day, I came home by car after a 3-hour trip. By the way, I had no problems at all regarding the surgery Ahmet did. I only had gas pains for the first 2 days—that was it. Within a week I came back to myself, but there are step-by-step things you need to be careful about for about 2 months. Right now I’m on my 21st day, and I’m doing very well, but I’m paying attention because I had 2 surgeries within a month.
I still have issues related to my first surgery, and they said it could last up to 6 months. A surgery they call “simple and easy” turned me into this. Please, but please—your health is everything, more valuable than anything. Hand yourself over to the hands you trust. Mr. Ahmet Bekin and his team are number one for me in this regard.
