I had my surgery with Dr. Mateus and I couldn’t help but record just how well I was cared for throughout the entire process. The care went far beyond the day of the surgery. Dr. Mateus monitors everything closely, from preparation to recovery, and that provides enormous peace of mind. During the post-operative period, we have a WhatsApp group with the team, available every day and responding very quickly. Dr. Mateus himself is also present, following everything and responding to questions and needs that come up during recovery. Even while still in the hospital, he and his team follow everything through until discharge. In the first two days at home, I received care from a nurse from the team, including accompanying me during my first bath, which is one of the most delicate moments of this stage. Weekly follow-ups with the physiotherapists were also very important for my recovery. And a major differential I consider huge is having Dr. Mateus present in all post-operative appointments, closely monitoring my progress and aligning each step with the team. Another care that made a difference was receiving all the dressings and necessary materials during recovery, at no additional cost. I also want to highlight the entire team of nurses, physiotherapists, and secretaries—always very attentive and available—along with the space, which is very welcoming. I’m very happy with my choice. The outcome of the surgery is important, but going through the whole process feeling safe, welcomed, and so well cared for made all the difference. More than a surgery, I experienced an atmosphere of support, care, and professionalism from beginning to end. It all started with **Franciele Silva (Fran)**, the clinic manager. She is the one who won me over right from my first contact. Her way of attending is extremely human, welcoming, and considerate, giving me confidence from the very first moment and making me certain that I needed to get to know the clinic. During my first appointment with **Dr. Mateus Vizzotto**, I already knew it would be him. I had other surgeons to meet, but I left determined to cancel all the other consultations. The safety, calmness, and trust he conveys are admirable. Beyond technical competence, he also has a human approach—making the entire process feel light and safe. **Tainá Ramires**, responsible for the contractual part, guided everything with so much clarity, organization, and transparency. And **Tainá da Silva**, the home care nurse, was simply sensational. She explained in detail the use of medications, schedules, and all the post-operative care, always with great patience and availability. She is such a dedicated professional that I wanted her to be close by every day during recovery. **Amanda**, from the nursing team, was always very kind, gentle, and careful with the dressings. And **Carolina**, the clinic’s physiotherapist, deserves a special thank-you. She was the professional I had the most contact with throughout the entire recovery. In May, my friend and I took the bold step of traveling to Porto Alegre for plastic surgery. I had done some research on best places to go globally and Brazil was top three. PA, I was told, was the best place to go in Brazil. The personal response when I reached out to Dr Vizzotto and had a video consult was unexpected and exceptional compared to the attention I would have received when exploring options here in the US, and blew away the nonexistent consultation with the high-end clinic I inquired at in Turkey. As well, the Turkish clinic was not about what was best, given my body but just said “we can do whatever you want.” Dr. Vizzotto was detail oriented from the very first consultation, did not have a problem to push back on things not in my best interest and clearly was desiring to do what was best to achieve my goals without doing too much. Throughout our initial consult, Dr. Vizzotto sought to know who I was, listening and asking questions about my story and what my expectations were (a natural refresh. I am 62.) He wanted to KNOW his patient’s heart as well as their body. That is unique indeed compared to US medicine!! He also did not hesitate to refer me to Dr. Denis for facial touchups, as his expertise was body. This is truly professional. As well, because we were international, Dr. Vizzotto understood our concerns and fears. A driver and interpreter were provided from our arrival in PA to our departure, so we would understand and be comfortable through the whole process… and they both were wonderful!! Meeting the team at Dr. Vizzotto’s office in PA was such a pleasure from the first step into their office. They were so very kind, welcoming and professional and I felt like I was in the care of friends. The time spent pre-surgery, once we were meeting in person, was equally detailed, with some adjustments in the surgery plan made now that he could see me in person. Measurements were taken and fittings done by staff. The time taken and attention to detail was very impressive. Again, completely outside what one would expect in the US. Surgery day came and the care pre- and post-op in the surgery center was exceptional and caring. They all worked so well together as a team! Post-op, communication and availability for any questions or concerns was coordinated for us and responses were prompt. Again, directly with the doctors, which is so comforting and unlike the US. We had a nurse with us 24/7 for the first few days until we were comfortable to be on our own. She was both our interpreter and nurse and was amazing!! She arranged our after care and visits to the doctors & hyperbaric treatment office (something lacking in the US.) We never felt isolated, fearful or abandoned in another country. And not just post-op care… Dr. Vizzotto and his staff wanted our stay in PA to be as enjoyable as possible as we recovered. Suggestions on where to go for dinner or shopping and what to do while there were offered regularly as we were more able to get out. And PA feels safe to be out and about. I am well on my way to complete healing and could not be happier with the results!! Dr. Vizzotto and his staff still reach out and respond to us to follow up on our process. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Vizzotto and his staff to anyone, whether from Brazil or traveling for plastic surgery internationally.
