The Cardiac Surgery Department of Sourasky cooperates with the Department of Heart Surgery and Sammy Ofer Heart Center. Heart valve replacement, coronary artery bypass grafting, treatment of aneurysms and other procedures are conducted here. Each year 2,500 surgeries of valve replacement valves and stents are performed. Doctors specialize in minimally invasive operations, including on Da Vinci robotic system.
The Department includes cardiopulmonary and cardiothoracic surgery, clinic of minimally invasive heart surgery.
The Department of Cardiac Surgery works on the basis of the Department of Cardiology. Every year doctors perform 500 operations, 97% of them are successful.
Such procedures as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), stenting, cardiac pacemakers, replacement of heart valves. The department uses new MICRA pacemakers. They are small capsules that are placed during catheterization. The procedure allows avoiding open surgery on the heart and fastening the recovery of patients.
