Dr. Luis Padilla is a physician who specializes in gynecologic oncology, general practice, and healthcare administration. He helped introduce the da Vinci Robotic Assisted Surgical System, which improved minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Padilla has worked as Associate Administrator for Health Workforce at HRSA. He also served as Director of the NHSC. In these roles, he influenced national health policy and workforce training. He has received the People’s Choice Award and the People Living Through Cancer Award for his commitment to patient care.
He served on the National Advisory Council of the NHSC from 2007 to 2010. He earned degrees from UC Irvine, Wake Forest, Brown, Northwestern, and the University of Minnesota.
