How Much Does Phalloplasty Cost in Mexico?

The cost of phalloplasty in Mexico typically ranges from $10,000 to $17,000. Prices vary depending on the surgical technique, the surgeon’s experience, and the complexity of the case. In the United States, the average cost is $110,000 (per ASPS). This means phalloplasty in Mexico is about 88% less than in the U.S.

Mexican clinics usually include the initial consultation, pre-op blood tests, post-op medication, follow-up visits, and 24/7 patient support. English-speaking staff and personalized care plans are standard. In the U.S., many of these services—especially follow-ups and medications—are billed separately. Always confirm exactly what’s included with your chosen clinic.

Key Benefits
Phalloplasty in Mexico offers significant cost savings compared to the US, with potential savings reaching up to 75.81%. The procedure, which focuses on reconstructing the male genitalia, typically costs around $8,950 in Mexico. This is significantly more affordable than in the US. Mexico is a popular destination for medical tourism, especially in cities like Tijuana and Cancun, where patients seek high-quality surgical care. Clinics often adhere to international standards, using advanced techniques and FDA-approved materials. It's essential to research and choose experienced surgeons to ensure safety and satisfactory outcomes.
Data verified by Bookimed as of December 2025, based on patient requests and official quotes from 93 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2024–2025) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

Phalloplasty in Mexico: Pros and Cons

Phalloplasty in Mexico can offer significant cost savings, but it's crucial to weigh the potential benefits against the risks.

Pros Cons
Lower costs. Phalloplasty in Mexico typically costs $8,950–$15,500, compared to $30,000–$60,000 in the US, offering savings of 60–75%. Safety concerns. Potential risks include infection (reported rates 2–5%), graft failure, or complications with implants. These risks are similar to those in the US when performed by qualified surgeons.
Qualified surgeons. Surgeons are certified by the Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery (CMCPER), with many trained in US or European fellowship programs and 10+ years of experience. Follow-up care. Managing post-surgical care from abroad can be challenging. Some clinics offer telemedicine, but complex revisions may require travel.
Modern facilities. Procedures are performed in ISO- and JCI-accredited hospitals using equipment from leading brands such as Stryker and Medtronic. Different regulatory standards. COFEPRIS standards differ from the FDA, but top clinics follow international protocols and use FDA-approved materials.
Comprehensive packages. Many clinics include pre-op, medication, transport, and short hospital stays, streamlining the experience for international patients. Procedure-specific risks. Potential risks include urinary complications (reported in up to 10% of cases) and sensation issues. Careful technique and experienced surgeons lower these risks.
Personal coordinator support. Bookimed’s medical coordinator helps compare clinics, request personalized quotes, and manage treatment logistics at no additional cost.

It's crucial to thoroughly research clinics and verify surgeon credentials before making a decision. Provided patients carefully research and choose reputable providers, phalloplasty in Mexico can offer quality outcomes at a reduced cost.

Day 2: Pre-Surgery Consultation
  • Attend a pre-surgery consultation at the clinic. Discuss any last-minute questions or concerns with your surgeon.
  • Undergo necessary pre-operative diagnostics, such as blood tests or imaging, to ensure you are fit for surgery.

  • Follow any pre-surgery instructions provided, such as fasting or medication adjustments.
Day 3: Surgery Day
  • Arrive at the clinic at the scheduled time. Ensure you have all necessary documents and identification with you.
  • Undergo the phalloplasty procedure as planned. The surgery may involve either the placement of an implant for increased length and girth or fat injections for girth enhancement.

I am 3 months post op and I have zero regrets
The experience I had with Dr Marroquin far exceed my expectations. I am an American living in Miami, FL. I inquired with surgeons locally before deciding to travel abroad for my deep plane face and neck lift with blepharoplasty. After extensive research I found Dr Marroquin, I read through all the patient testimonials I could find and looked at all his before and after photos. I reached out to him via Bookimed. At first I thought I was being scammed, the people at Bookimed did not speak very good english, I could tell I was communicating with a non native english or spanish speaker. The communications came in at weird hours of the day. After a few back and forth, I said I would not proceed any further without speaking with someone from Dr Marroquins office. That same day someone claiming to be Dr Marroquin contacted me on Whatsapp. I thought for sure it was a scam, so at first I ignored him. In Miami you would have to be dying in order for the surgeon to speak with you directly. I told him I was feeling uneasy and he suggested we set up a video call for later that day, I thought there is no way its going to be him on the phone, and sure enough it was him! He took his personal time on a Sunday to call me. We spoke for almost an hour, and at the end of that call I was 100% sure this was my doctor. He is so down to earth and approachable, he made me feel so at ease. I let him know the next day I wanted to proceed with the surgery, from that point on I only communicated with him. He helped me to schedule the surgery, my preop appointments and made recommendations for recovery houses. In less than a month I arrived in Guadalajara, he met with me the next day and we discussed the surgery in length. At that point I decided to add a lip lift to the procedure. I passed all my preop and had my surgery on August 26th. Dr Marroquin was amazing the day of surgery, he spoke to me in english (which he speaks very well), he made sure I understood every step of the process. Everything went very well, I spent the next 10 days in Mexico recovering at a recovery house. I spoke with Dr Marroquin every day while I was there. I had zero complications and flew home after 10 days to continue my recovery at home. I am 3 months post op and I have zero regrets. I speak with Dr Marroquin every few weeks and keep him updated on my progress with photos. If you are considering this surgery, I 100% recommend having a consultation with Dr Marroquin, he is an amazing doctor and human being.
I liked how personal the service was, I really got to know my doctor and felt 100% at ease with him.
I wish I would have waited for the recovery house I wanted to use to have availability. They were booked up so I decided to use another one that was not as highly rated. It was not a bad experience, but it could have been better.

The hospital advertised was not the one I went to. The operating room was thrown together i my opinion. Hardly anyone spoke English so I had a difficult time with the forms. I didn't even get a copy. After the surgery I was left on my back overnight night and was told I'll be ok. Once finally discharged the next morning, I only received antibiotics and ibuprofen. No instructions on how and what to do afterwards. I felt like they did what they was supposed to and dropped me off in the streets to fend for myself
How close it was from my home
The facility, language barrier and no instructions

The surgeon was good but the coordinator Carlo made too many mistakes. 1. Didn’t book continuous days at hotel. 2. As a result, I was kicked out of room the day I was in surgery. . 2. Need more after care days to remove drainage. I was abruptly kicked out of TJ while I was still feeling weak. Needed more days in Tijuana. At least 2 more. Return to America and no one wanted to remove drainage tubes. 3. The day nurse talked bad about me to everyone. The night nurse , Paulina was perfect. I would never recommend surgery in Mexico. No need to go viral with this because all of USA know this. Mexican are much better at picking fruits!

Dr Marroquin was/is available nearly immediately with WhatsApp and addressed all my concerns and questions with a speed and efficiency one can't get in the US
Top notch facilities, very attentive staff and Dr Marroquin was / is available nearly immediately with WhatsApp and addressed all my concerns and questions with a speed and efficiency one can't get in the US. My recovery at FCH Hotel was very good as well. Is in a great area of Guadalajara, totally safe and lots of dining options.

Their staff was very accommodating and thoughtful - everyone was super nice and considerate, especially Sara and Maria
First off, I used Aura Wellness Center, instead of Alice Beauty Clinic. And, their staff was very accommodating and thoughtful - everyone was super nice and considerate, especially Sara and Maria. Sara was the best English speaker there and helped me with everything. Maria was kind, warm, and also a great English speaker. They made it less lonely since I had this journey alone. Through Bookimed, I was assisted by Confidence, she was super thoughtful and checked up on me. She made sure I had connections with my medical coordinator and doctor. My coordinator was named Carlos. He was kind, answering all my questions and even texted me after my surgery numerous time to ensure I was recovering and satisfied with my results. My doctor was Dr. Ayala. I can't say much about him since he was in and out of the surgery room. I met him briefly. And, I'm unsure of my results as I am only one month post-op.
The staff at the clinic was accommodating. The coordinator from Bookimed and from the doctor ensured my questions were answered.
Dr. Ayala's brevity and lack of check up after the surgery. I didn't meet him more than 15 (when I was conscious since I was under anesthesia when he operated on me).

my results are far and beyond my wildest expectations
The staff were UNBELIEVABLY kind! I felt I was well listened to, my needs were met, and my results are far and beyond my wildest expectations. If I decide to have more plastic surgery, I will, without hesitation come back here.
How I was listened to and cared for and Dr. Ayala's warm, affable nature.
There were some bumps in terms of communication initially that was frustrating, but we got over that quickly and it stopped being an issue

I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

Hospital fine, clean decent staff Got gynecomastia surgery, emintha into healing moderately okay results, had maybe grade one maybe grade 2 gyno, got glands removed as I was very lean, Surgeon made long incisions, along my chest, have two ling 3 Inch scars on either side of my nipples on both side of my chest Fland wasn't fully removed on my left side so have recurring gyno, Need steriod injection to help with scaring, surgeon isn't competent enough to go through the nipples to leave no scarring, Pictures they send of before and after are a lie, Probably look worse than before cant take my top off after, The response to this was get laser treatment or steriod injections Sub par save your money go somewhere else Probably the same for most procedures they do

The staff and doctors were extremely knowledgeable and very supportive to all of my care needs
The staff and doctors were extremely knowledgeable and and very supportive to all of my care needs. Everyone was very personable and caring and consistent at every turn. I felt safe and confident. Even more so than when n the states.
I liked how Dr Navarro came in and administered my tests himself. That never happens in the states.
I honestly can’t think of anything negative to say.

Terrible surgeon. Will not take the time to speak with you, when he does he knows limited English and is very very rushed. The first time me he gave me results that were so drastic I looked like a pig or someone from who-ville. I had to pay for a second surgery for him to give me my old nose but even worse! (Again super rushed, had zero time to make a decision). Absolutely awful experience. Scary. He refused to even try to fix my nose now for another 6 months. Even though I offered to pay again. Have to date and see friends humiliated with a half finished face. Go to someone with talent and who actually cares. He doesn’t. You are just a number to the surgeons there.
