How Much Does Neck lift Cost in Republic of Korea?

Neck lift surgery in the Republic of Korea typically costs from $2,600 to $6,800. The total investment depends on the surgical technique, such as platysmaplasty or deep plane lifting, and the clinic district. Patients save approximately 64% compared to the US, where the average cost is $13,000. Standard packages often include anesthesia, medical tests, compression garments, and post-operative care.

  • Technique variation: Standard surgical lifting usually ranges from 15-20% higher than mini neck lifts.
  • Platysmaplasty: This intensive muscle tightening approach typically costs more than a simple skin-only cervicoplasty.
  • Deep plane lifting: Advanced deep plane techniques often command a premium due to surgical complexity.
  • Combined procedures: Bundling a neck lift with a facelift often provides significant overall savings.
  • Regional variations: Clinics in the Gangnam district of Seoul may charge more than regional centers.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Korea offers exceptional value through specialized "aftercare" systems. Clinics like SAERO Plastic Surgery and HERSHE Plastic Surgery Korea include hyperbaric oxygen therapy or specialized hair care in their packages. While basic procedures start around $2,600, investing in a $10,700 deep plane package often yields the highest long-term satisfaction. These high-tier options frequently include VIP transfers and 24-year expert surgical oversight.

The competence, careful attitude and attention to every little detail is what I really liked
I would like to thank my doctor for his careful attention to my difficult situation. The competence, careful attitude and attention to every little detail is what I really liked. Now I am still recovering and the final result is still far away, but I believe that everything will be fine. I would like to mention my coordinator-translator Jena. She is a very nice girl who helped me during my stay. Kind, nice, responsible and competent. She made me feel very comfortable. Thank you very much to the doctor, Jena and the clinic staff for everything. I will definitely recommend to my friends.

I couldn't have asked for more!
I had surgery done in Korea 2 weeks ago. Bookimed had recommended a few clinics and surgeons initially and I chose VG Plastic Surgery Clinic. Ms. Queen at Bookimed helped with getting answers to many of my questions from the clinic. She followed up with me frequently and continues to do so after my surgery. Bookimed made it easier for me to narrow down on the clinic and surgeon, which I appreciated given the number of surgeons and clincs available in Korea! Ms. Queen at Bookimed assisted with setting up an initial virtual consultation with VG surgery clinic where I met Dr. Choi and Jenny (VG's coordinator and interpreter). After arriving in Korea, I had an in-person consultation with Dr. Choi and Jenny, they listened to my concerns and suggested an alternate surgery method. At the end, my surgical plan was adjusted and finalized. I really appreciated that they listened to my concerns, provided an alternative and adjusted accordingly. I believed my surgery went well since this was my first experience. Jenny at VG was terrific! She acted as my interpreter and organized my recovery services at the clinic. Jenny was accessible during my stay in Korea. I couldn't have asked for more! I flew home after 10 days and slowly recovering now at home. At this point (2 weeks), I am seeing more improvements. I can't wait to see my final results which will be in 3 to 6 months. I am hoping it will be as good as I imagine!
Dr. Choi's expertise and the fact that he listed to my concerns, provided a viable alternative and adjusted accordingly. Also really appreciated that they had interpreter for foreigners who did not speak the language and that they are accessible at all time.
Nurses during surgery were a bit mechanical. I am sure they are in surgeries all day and for them it is routine but for the patient, this could be their first time. A gentler approach would have helped to ease the anxiety.

I would highly recommend this clinic for its quality service and professionalism
I am very pleased with my choice of this clinic. From the very beginning the communication with the clinic staff was fast and of high quality. I chose from 3 clinics. It was in this clinic that I got the best price and quality service before and after the procedure. I had a second rhinoplasty. The doctor did just a jewellery work with my nose. Very carefully, without much interference, he corrected the flaws from the first surgery I had a couple of years ago in Turkey. I am very happy with the result. My nose is now straight and neat. I was also very pleased with the service at the clinic after the operation. I had all the necessary procedures to reduce the swelling immediately after the operation and then during the week I still came a couple of times for procedures, so the recovery took literally a week. Special thanks to the assistant Joan. She was always in touch and very supportive throughout my stay in Korea. I would highly recommend this clinic for its quality service and professionalism.

By far the most attentive care I have EVER gotten in medicine—again, thanks especially to Joanne, who even walked me back to my hotel across the street post-op
One would fear that flying to a foreign country where you don’t know the language would be stressful and scary. Not only did the staff (Joanne <3!) make that all a cakewalk, the clinic’s aftercare was top notch, they really went above and beyond for me. And I am NOT an easy patient—I need to know every chemical in the anesthesia, I negotiate different antibiotics, make them go over my 21 daily supplements, etc—I kept them BUSY and was shown nothing but continual grace and warmth, and was always responded to promptly. By far the most attentive care I have EVER gotten in medicine—again, thanks especially to Joanne, who even walked me back to my hotel across the street post op. As for the surgery outcome, I didn’t even need a Tylenol it was that painless, I was able to walk around and enjoy Seoul every day after my mini lift, and although I’m still swollen at just under two weeks out, I already look ten years younger and am loving what I’m seeing. Dr. Park knows what he is doing, he’s done 3000+ facelifts (yes I asked), he has superb attention to detail, a true artist’s hand, and is a friendly and gentlemanly doctor!

I give Saero Plastic Surgery a 5 because they exceeded my expectations
Dr. Pak is very knowledgeable and professional. It has been over a week sonce my surgery and see.s that everything is healing well. He prescribed a pack of antibiotics and pain killers for me to take for 5 days. The medication worked great because I was at a very minimal pain. His staff walked me through everything I needed from the US to Korea. I felt confident that I was in good hands and I was. The interpreter did a great good Interpreting everything I needed to ask the doctor and addressed all my concerns. I give Saero Plastic Surgery a 5 because they exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommend to everyone.

Now two months after surgery, I am quite happy with the shape of my new eyelids
The medical team members are so friendly and helpful. Although I speak zero Korean, I can sense their passion and empathy, which dramatically reduced my anxiety to go through the surgery. They are very supportive from the right beginning to the end when I left Seoul. And big thanks to the assistance from Yena, who provides detailed before and after care instructions rather than just working as an interpreter. Now two months after surgery, I am quite happy with the shape of my new eyelids. They look much younger and alert.

All medical staff and the doctor were wonderful throughout my treatment journey. Nurses were very kind, attentive and very thoughtful. I’m so touched by their attitude and thoughtfulness, especially after my surgery. t was a great experience, the doctor was good, but could have been more attentive. The staff are a little curt when it comes to customer service, but the translator Joanne was excellent and very attentive, there was also a very friendly older nurse. And there were also free therapeutic treatments that I really liked. Now I need to wait for the results to give a real assessment of whether the treatment was really good.

The experience for me, in general, was excellent, I would go back to the Dr
I was very pleased with the attention I received from the first day I arrived at the clinic. The interpreter was able to communicate perfectly to the surgeon what I wanted to be done and what my expectations were. I loved the hospitality of the Medical Team, all very attentive, very concerned about whether I was feeling well or not, reminding me of my check-ups, cleaning, suture removal, giving me all the information for the post-operative period, giving me light and oxygen therapy sessions to improve and accelerate the results of my recovery. The clinic is located in a very central place in Gangnam, it is easy to get there. It is very close to the flat that the clinic provides during your stay until the first check-up. The clinic is spacious, well-lit, very clean, with flexible opening hours for post-operative care. The real estate is very comfortable, they have coffee and tea so that you can help yourself. And, they don't keep you waiting. Everything works as scheduled. And, additionally, they provided me with help on how to get around the city, how to get to the tourist attractions, to the shops where they sell skin care products, etc. The experience for me, in general, was excellent, I would go back to the Dr. and I recommend him 100% to those people who are looking for a good clinic where they can have surgery with the full confidence that everything will go very well.
I loved that the Dr. was very patient in understanding exactly what I wanted, thanks to the interpreter I was able to make the Dr. understand everything perfectly. I also liked very much the attention of the medical team that continued to see me the days after the surgery and the warmth and kindness of each one of them. As well as giving me all the instructions I had to follow, they gave me the creams I had to use so that the swelling and bruising would disappear more quickly.
I have nothing to complain about the Clinic, the Dr., the medical team, the interpreter and the care I received before, during and after my surgery. I just think that I should have stayed longer in South Korea to get to see more beautiful places.
About Bookimed service
Bookimed made it easy for me to have a person who speaks my language to assist me whenever I had questions about the different alternatives of plastic surgery clinics that I could ask to evaluate me and give me a quote. When I had already decided on the clinic I wanted to go to, the person who assisted me very kindly answered all the questions I had after I had made my choice. She sent me all the information I asked for about the clinic, the background of the Dr. who was going to operate on me, health permits, health registration of the Dr., validity of his professional title, etc. Everything I needed to make sure I made a very informed decision and knew everything about the clinic, the Dr, the place where I would be operated on, where the clinic was located, where I would be staying from the day of the surgery until a week later and, obviously, how much I was going to be charged. There was only one difference with respect to the initial budget, but it was because once I was in the clinic I added a part of my face that had not been contemplated before. But even so, the final price did not increase too much compared to what I was charged at other clinics in South Korea.

FAQ about Neck lift in Republic of Korea

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the main health risks and complications of a neck lift performed in Korea?

Neck lift surgery in South Korea carries standard surgical risks including hematoma, seroma, and temporary nerve numbness. Specific complications include marginal mandibular nerve injury causing facial asymmetry, skin necrosis in smokers, and dissatisfaction from shadow doctors or communication gaps in high-volume Seoul clinics during medical tourism.

  • Hematoma risk: Blood collection occurs in 1% of cases, usually within 48 hours post-op.
  • Nerve injury: Aggressive SMAS techniques may cause temporary numbness or rare permanent lip drooping.
  • Infection management: International patients may face challenges matching Korean antibiotic protocols once back home.
  • Travel complications: Long-haul flights post-surgery increase risks of deep vein thrombosis and fluid buildup.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from top Seoul clinics like HERSHE and SAERO show a 93.7% success rate but reveal a critical recovery gap. While basic neck lifts cost $2,600, premium $10,000 deep plane packages at HERSHE include 7-day hotel stays. This extra time is vital because most hematomas or drainage issues appear during this first week.

Patient Consensus: Patients often report prolonged numbness around the chin and ears after aggressive contouring. A major practical challenge is finding local surgeons willing to manage complications from specific Korean techniques once you return home.

Who is considered a good candidate for a Korean neck lift?

Good candidates for a Korean neck lift include individuals aged 30 to 60 with mild-to-moderate skin laxity seeking a defined jawline. Ideal patients often have platysmal bands, horizontal wrinkles, or sagging following facial contouring surgery. Success depends more on skin elasticity than chronological age for natural results.

  • Post-contouring patients: Individuals with sagging skin after double jaw or facial bone reduction surgery.
  • Specific aesthetic concerns: Those with vertical neck cords, double chins, or visible turkey wattle.
  • Elasticity status: Patients with sufficient collagen bounce-back to support refined, subtle surgical tightening.
  • Health profile: Non-smokers without medical conditions that could potentially slow the healing process.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Korean clinics like Glassy Skin Clinic and HERSHE specialize in tiered interventions that many overlook. While Western patients often wait for surgery, Korean data shows high demand for neck elasticity lasers priced around $532. This preventative approach for 30-somethings often delays the need for a $2,600 surgical lift by years.

Patient Consensus: Patients value how surgeons focus on creating a distinct neck-to-jaw transition rather than just tightening skin. Many emphasize that results mature gradually over 6 months and suggest being open to combined fat grafting for volume.

How is the procedure actually performed in most Korean clinics?

Most Korean clinics perform neck lifts by combining minimally invasive endoscopic techniques with corset platysmaplasty to tighten underlying muscles. Surgeons typically access the area through small 1–2 cm incisions under the chin or behind the ears, ensuring hidden scars and rapid 7-day initial recovery.

  • Surgical technique: Surgeons use endoscopic assistance for precise muscle suturing and platysma band removal.
  • Anesthesia protocol: Procedures use local anesthesia with IV sedation or general anesthesia for safety.
  • Typical duration: Solo neck lifts take 1–2 hours; combined SMAS facelifts require 2–4 hours.
  • Recovery support: Clinics like SAERO Plastic Surgery include hyperbaric oxygen therapy to accelerate tissue healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many high-volume Seoul clinics use a structured workflow, the experience gap is significant. Specialized surgeons like Dr. Minhee Ryu at RNWOOD Plastic Surgery maintain a refined 8-point protocol using annual cadaver dissection for safety. Choosing these specialized boutiques over general fee-driven centers often results in more natural eye and mouth corners after lifting.

Patient Consensus: Patients value the efficiency of same-day outpatient results but emphasize using compression garments for 3 days to secure the new jawline definition.

What is the typical recovery timetable and return to normal activity after surgery in Korea?

Neck lift recovery in Korea typically requires 2 to 3 weeks for basic function and 4 to 6 weeks for a return to normal activities. Final results emerge within 2 to 3 months as patients follow rigorous aftercare protocols involving frequent medical check-ups and specialized swelling treatments.

  • Hospital stay: Most procedures require only 1 day or no hospital stay at all.
  • Initial healing: Intense swelling and bruising peak during days 1 to 3 after surgery.
  • Activity restrictions: Avoid lifting over 5 to 10 lbs for 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Follow-up schedule: Mandatory clinical visits occur on days 3, 7, 14, and 30.
  • Exercise timeline: Strenuous workouts are restricted for 4 to 6 weeks to ensure safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Korean clinics like SAERO and HERSHE prioritize rapid healing by bundling advanced therapies into standard packages. While Western protocols often focus on rest, Korean surgeons frequently include hyperbaric oxygen therapy and vitamin infusions to accelerate tissue repair. This approach is why many patients are cleared for international travel in just 10 to 14 days despite the intensive nature of the surgery.

Patient Consensus: Patients report that wearing compression garments 24/7 for the first 3 weeks is vital for success. Many found sleeping upright with multiple pillows eased early neck stiffness and helped manage initial social anxiety regarding visible swelling.

How long do I need to stay in Korea and what support is provided during that time?

Most patients require a 7 to 14 day stay in the Republic of Korea for a neck lift. This duration allows for essential post-operative monitoring and suture removal, which typically occurs between days 10 and 14 at Seoul clinics like SAERO Plastic Surgery or VG Plastic Surgery.

  • Clinic support: Multilingual teams provide language assistance and 24/7 coordination throughout the recovery process.
  • Post-operative care: Packages often include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, vitamin infusions, and professional hair wash services.
  • Medical kits: Surgeons provide compression garments, specialized cosmetic kits, and necessary medications for home recovery.
  • Logistics help: Premium options include VIP airport-to-clinic transfers, though patients usually book their own accommodation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While a 7-day stay is common, choosing clinics like HERSHE Plastic Surgery Korea that offer VIP transfers and comprehensive `Beauty Club` services significantly improves recovery comfort.
