What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about Gum plasmolifting in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Are there any risks or side effects associated with gum plasmolifting in Thailand?

Gum plasmolifting in Thailand is a safe, biocompatible procedure with minimal risks. It uses the patient's own blood. Side effects typically include minor swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. This usually resolves within 72 hours. Choosing JCI-accredited clinics helps avoid serious complications.

  • Injection tenderness: Mild soreness at gum sites usually settles within 3 days.
  • Temporary swelling: Normal inflammatory response as growth factors activate tissue healing.
  • Minor bruising: Small bruises may appear on gums or blood draw sites.
  • Sterilisation protocols: Leading centres like BIDC follow strict international standards to prevent infection.
  • Provider expertise: Treatment by specialists reduces risks of nerve or tissue damage.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics offer this for rejuvenation. However, data shows it works best as a supportive adjunct. Patients find the best value when it is part of a broader periodontal therapy plan. Centres like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) use on-site digital labs for precise plasma preparation.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that injections cause temporary soreness and swelling. Even so, the healing process is quick. They recommend confirming how the plasma is prepared. Patients should also have a clear follow-up plan before flying home.

Can gum plasmolifting in Thailand cure severe gum recession on its own?

Gum plasmolifting cannot cure severe gum recession on its own because lost tissue does not naturally regrow. In Thailand, specialists use plasmolifting to stimulate healing and reduce inflammation. However, severe cases typically require structural interventions like gingival grafts. These interventions or periodontal surgery are needed to restore the gum line effectively.

  • Regenerative support: Plasmolifting uses your own platelets to trigger collagen production and tissue repair.
  • Combination therapy: Surgeons often pair it with grafts to speed up healing and recovery.
  • Structural limits: Injections improve gum health and thickness but cannot rebuild major bone loss.
  • Clinical options: JCI-accredited centres like Bangkok International Dental Center provide specialised periodontal surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Plasmolifting costs between $600 and $1,100 in Thailand, but it is rarely a solo treatment. Data shows patients with severe recession often transition to periodontal therapy. This therapy ranges from $800 to $1,400. Combining these techniques usually leads to more stable results than relying on injections alone.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand find plasmolifting works best as a supportive add-on. It is not a standalone cure. Most prefer first addressing the cause with deep cleaning. They then seek regenerative injections for better gum stability.

What is gum plasmolifting and how does the treatment work in Thailand?

Gum plasmolifting is a dental treatment that uses Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) from a patient's own blood. This regenerates gum tissue to help it heal and strengthen. In Thailand, JCI-accredited centres like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) use these injections. They treat inflammation and speed up healing after dental implants or surgery.

  • Natural regeneration: Uses the patient's own growth factors to restore gum shape and health.
  • Inflammation control: Reduces bleeding and swelling caused by gingivitis or gum disease.
  • Quick procedure: Blood collection, centrifugation, and gum injections take under 60 minutes.
  • Specialist delivery: Board-certified periodontists perform these procedures in Thailand for precise application.
  • Recovery speed: Rapid cellular repair allows patients to return to normal activities almost immediately.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Single sessions exist, but Thailand's top periodontists usually recommend 2 to 3 sessions. This approach keeps growth factors active during the critical early healing phase. Patients often bundle this with implants at centres like BIDC to improve long-term stability.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate this as a therapy with no side effects. They found it helpful for reducing tenderness after major dental work. Most suggest confirming whether the clinic uses PRP or PRF before starting treatment.

How many sessions of gum plasmolifting are required when travelling to Thailand for treatment?

Gum plasmolifting in Thailand typically requires 3 to 4 sessions for a full course. These injections are spaced 7 to 14 days apart. Patients should plan a 3 to 4 week stay in Bangkok to complete the series.

  • Injection frequency: Specialists usually perform one session every 7 to 14 days.
  • Total duration: Expect to spend 22 to 30 days for a complete four-session cycle.
  • Adjunctive use: Often combined with dental implants or bone grafts to speed up healing.
  • Clinical stay: Most patients require 1 to 2 nights per visit if combining treatments.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While a full course takes weeks, JCI-accredited centres like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) often coordinate these as single-session add-ons. If undergoing periodontal gum therapy costing $800 to $1,400, plasmolifting is often integrated into the primary surgery timeline.

Patient Consensus: Many find the procedure works best as a clinical adjunct. Patients suggest confirming the session count in writing. This ensures the travel itinerary matches the specific periodontal plan.

Is gum plasmolifting in Thailand a painful procedure?

Gum plasmolifting in Thailand is generally not painful. Dentists use local anaesthesia to numb the treatment area. Patients only feel a slight pinch during the initial numbing injection. Most describe the rest of the procedure as mild pressure rather than sharp pain.

  • Pain management: Dentists apply topical numbing gel before the local anaesthetic injection.
  • Procedure sensation: Patients typically feel pressure or movement during the plasma injections.
  • Post-treatment recovery: Expect mild tenderness, swelling, or aching once the anaesthetic wears off.
  • Managing discomfort: Over-the-counter painkillers and antiseptic mouthwash usually manage any soreness.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Plasmolifting is minimally invasive. Bookimed data shows patients prefer JCI-accredited centres like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC). These clinics use standardised workflows to administer anaesthesia correctly. This high standard of care helps keep patient comfort consistent across complex gum treatments.

Patient Consensus: The experience is manageable. It is more uncomfortable if gums are already inflamed. Most people report pressure during injections followed by standard gum tenderness for two days.

Why do patients choose to travel to Thailand for gum plasmolifting?

Patients choose Thailand for gum plasmolifting because it combines regenerative dental therapy with immediate appointment availability. Leading clinics in Bangkok and Phuket use JCI-accredited facilities and specialist periodontists. These specialists treat gum disease and recession using the patient's own concentrated plasma cells.

  • Accredited facilities: Centres like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) hold prestigious JCI accreditation.
  • Specialist expertise: Thai dental surgeons often hold postgraduate degrees from leading universities.
  • Modern technology: Clinics use on-site digital labs to speed up blood plasma processing times.
  • Efficient scheduling: Patients typically experience much shorter wait times compared to Australian dental clinics.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand ranks third globally for gum plasmolifting requests on our platform. The presence of in-house digital laboratories at major Bangkok clinics is a significant advantage. This allows specialists to perform the procedure and provide immediate follow-up care in one location. This often reduces the total holiday time required for treatment.

Patient Consensus: Many travellers select Thailand to combine regenerative dental care with a tropical holiday. They value the shorter wait times and the professional, private clinic environment found in major Thai cities.
