Qualifications
Gastroenterology Specialization and Innovations
Dr. Yague treats diseases of the digestive tract, liver, biliary ducts, and pancreas. He uses advanced endoscopic resection techniques to remove tumors without invasive surgery. In 2011, he became a Spanish pioneer by introducing submucosal endoscopic dissection — a technique to remove deep gastrointestinal lesions.
His work includes performing gastroenteroanastomosis with luminal apposition stents for patients with pancreatic cancer. He also treats Barrett's esophagus and inflammatory bowel conditions like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Additionally, he provides third-space endoscopy and bariatric methods like the Apollo Method.
The doctor performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound. He also conducts specific check-up programs for digestive disease. This program focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of colon precancerous lesions.

Achievements and International Recognition
In 2011, Dr. Yague used the 15-mm AXIOS stent for the first time globally. He used this tool for successful pancreatic fluid collection drainage. This technique allows for less invasive treatment of serious pancreatic complications. Furthermore, he pioneered the use of luminal apposition stents for bowel obstruction in 2018.
The doctor co-authored clinical reference guides for the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. These documents established standards for treating chronic pancreatitis and non-variceal gastrointestinal hemorrhages. In 2016, he received the Gold Medal from the Andalusian Society for Digestive Disease.
