Dr. Carlos Garcia Vasquez is a colorectal, oncologic and robotic surgeon in Madrid with over 20 years of medical practice and more than 7,000 procedures performed. He is the founder and Director of Centro PAD and Associate Head of General and Digestive Surgery at Infanta Elena University Hospital. He holds a PhD in Surgery (sobresaliente cum laude, highest distinction) and a 2021 patent for an abdominal wall prosthetic implantation system.

Research, Innovations and Teaching

Dr. Garcia Vasquez contributes to surgical advancement through inventions and academic leadership. He serves as a thesis tutor at Francisco de Vitoria University. He also works as a teaching collaborator at the same institution. Since 2013, he has been a researcher at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz Health Research Institute. Furthermore, he peer-reviews for the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports.

In addition to his research roles, he serves as a residents' tutor at Infanta Elena University Hospital. He is a member of the Teaching Commission at the same hospital. Since 2019, he has managed international and transversal training at this facility. He previously served as a Professor for the Master’s Specialization in Coloproctology at TECH Universidad Tecnológica in 2021.
