Specialization and Advanced Endoscopy
Dr. Akar uses endosurgical techniques to treat digestive disorders. He performs POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy) to treat achalasia, a condition where the esophagus cannot move food to the stomach. He also performs Z-POEM for Zenker’s Diverticulum and G-POEM to treat gastroparesis.
