Elyia Levinger

Dr. Eliya Levinger is an ophthalmologist and eye surgeon in Israel. He specializes in corneal transplantation, cataract surgery, and laser vision correction. Technion recognized him for his work in human vision design. This research focuses on the formation and development of medical laboratories.

Clinical Specialization

Dr. Levinger treats glaucoma, cataracts, and keratoconus. He performs a wide range of surgical procedures to restore vision:

• Corneal transplantation and keratoplasty
• Cataract surgery with multifocal IOL replacement
• Corneal ring implantation and cross-linking – a treatment that strengthens the cornea using riboflavin and ultraviolet light
• Laser iridotomy and trabeculoplasty – laser treatments used to reduce internal eye pressure in glaucoma patients
• Vitrectomy and vitreolisis – procedures to remove or treat the vitreous gel in the eye
• Photorefractive keratectomy – a type of laser eye surgery to correct vision

Professional Experience

The doctor holds senior surgical positions across several Israeli medical centers. He performs surgeries at the eye department of Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov). Dr. Levinger also works as a senior surgeon at Enaim Medical Center. Additionally, he operates at Atidim Medical Center in Ramat Hachayal. In 2007, he helped a humanitarian medical mission in Georgia.
