Prof. Dr. Emeka Nkenke is an Austrian oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He holds both medical and dental degrees and a doctorate in theoretical medicine. He is Professor and Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna. He is also a consultant at Wiener Privatklinik.
He previously served as a full professor at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg and as Head of Department at Halle University. He is internationally recognized for virtual surgical planning and patient-specific implants. 1990s – Completed studies in medicine and dentistry; began specialization in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
2000s – Focused on craniofacial reconstruction, implantology, and bone regeneration, developing surgical techniques that integrate functional and aesthetic outcomes.
2010s – Appointed Professor and Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna, where he established advanced training programs and research initiatives in reconstructive surgery and 3D planning.
Today – Serves as senior consultant at Wiener Privatklinik and continues academic leadership at the Medical University of Vienna, specializing in jaw reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, facial implants, and tumor-related maxillofacial surgery.
