Qualifications
Prof. Dr. Engin Tutar was born in Istanbul in 1964. He completed his primary and secondary education at Istanbul Erkek Lisesi between 1975 and 1982, and graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1988. In December of the same year, he started his specialization in the Department of Pediatrics at Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital, becoming a specialist in Pediatrics in February 1993. He completed his subspecialty training in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, becoming a subspecialist in 2006. He served as the Assistant Chief Physician and Acting Chief Physician at the 2nd Pediatric Clinic of Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital between 2010 and 2012. In May 2012, he transferred to Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, where he became an Associate Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in 2014, and a Professor in 2020. Alongside his international and national article authorships, he has given over 50 presentations at congresses/courses/association meetings. He retired in May 2024 while serving as the head of the Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition department at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. As of June 2024, he is accepting patients at Hisar Hospital Intercontinental.
