Prof. Dr. Florian Fitzal is an Austrian surgeon, born 18 April 1974, specializing in breast, general, and visceral surgery. He earned his MD (PhD) in 1998 from the Medical University of Vienna. In 2006 he achieved board certification in general surgery and became a private lecturer and Associate Professor in Surgery. He also holds board certifications in surgical oncology and visceral surgery. In 2017 he completed a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management. He serves as Chief of the Surgical Breast Unit in the Department of Surgery and Deputy Head of the Breast Health Center at Vienna’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. His work focuses on breast cancer surgery, oncoplastic techniques, lymph node surgery, and reconstructive breast surgery.
