Qualifications
Hussein Yubeyli is the head of the Interdisciplinary Spine Center at Asklepios St. Georg. The doctor specializes in non-surgical treatment of scoliosis in patients aged 8 to 30 years (usually conservative therapy is possible up to 20 years).
To select the optimal method for correcting scoliosis, the doctor analyzes the patient's medical history (presence of fractures, hernias, etc.). Using a special program into which an X-ray image is loaded, the doctor receives information about the degree of curvature of the spine. Based on the diagnostic results, Hussein Yubeyli prescribes one of the treatment options:
- conservative - corrects the deformation with the help of a custom corset;
- surgical - operates on the curved part of the spine.
Surgery is most often required for severe scoliosis (grades 3-4).
Dr. Yubeyli performs about 50 spinal surgeries annually.
