Hepatobiliary surgeon with more than 25 years of experience. One of the international pioneers of minimally invasive liver surgery, having initiated and developed the San Raffaele laparoscopic liver resection program.

Doctor Luca Aldrighetti is the Head of the Hepatobiliary and General Surgery Division at the San Raffaele Research Hospital in Milan. Holds a position of Scientific Director of the Italian Group of Minimally Invasive Liver Surgery (IGoMILS). Primary clinical and research activities include surgical oncology topics on colorectal liver metastases, perihilar and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma, techniques for liver resection, and minimally invasive hepatobiliary surgery, with a personal series of more than 3,000 liver resections, more than 900 of which performed laparoscopically.
