Univ. Prof. Dr. Peter Bock is a leading Austrian trauma and orthopedic surgeon, internationally recognized for his expertise in shoulder and sports-related injuries, as well as reconstructive joint surgery. With decades of surgical experience and academic leadership, he has become one of Austria’s most respected specialists in musculoskeletal medicine and trauma care.
He studied medicine at the University of Vienna, graduating in the 1990s, and subsequently trained in trauma surgery and orthopedics at Vienna General Hospital (AKH), one of Europe’s top trauma centers. His early focus on functional joint restoration and sports trauma set the foundation for his later specialization in advanced reconstructive surgery.
1990s – Completed medical studies and began specialist training in trauma surgery and orthopedics.
2000s – Specialized in joint reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery, treating complex shoulder and ligament injuries.
2010s – Appointed Associate Professor of Trauma Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna, where he combined clinical work with academic teaching and orthopedic research.
Today – Serves as a senior consultant at Wiener Privatklinik and Vienna General Hospital, performing reconstructive, arthroscopic, and prosthetic surgeries, including shoulder stabilization, ACL reconstruction, and complex fracture management.
