Qualifications
Minimally Invasive Oncology & Imaging
Dr. El-sebai uses interventional oncology techniques to treat liver, renal, and soft-tissue tumors. He performs transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) – a procedure that delivers chemotherapy directly to cancer cells. He also uses radiofrequency (RF) and microwave ablation to destroy lesions in the lungs, bones, and thyroid.
His approach uses guidance from ultrasound, CT, and MRI for precision diagnostics. He conducts biopsies, including Mammotome excisions – a vacuum-assisted system used to remove benign breast lesions. These minimally invasive methods result in shorter recovery times and reduced surgical risks for patients.
Core Procedures
- CT and ultrasound-guided true-cut biopsies and FNAC – the use of needles to collect tissue or cell samples
- Percutaneous nephrostomy and ureteric stent insertion
- Uterine artery embolization for fibroids
- Biliary stent insertion and pigtail drainage
- Varicose vein ablation and sclerotherapy
- Wire localization and metallic marker insertion for breast lesions
- Coiling for pelvic varicosities and varicocele
- Abdominal, pelvic, and neck ultrasound imaging
