The doctor established the first organ transplant clinic in Turkey outside of a university hospital and performed the country's first laparoscopic kidney procedure from a live donor. This pioneering work has significantly advanced organ transplantation in Turkey.

Graduating from the School of Medicine, Ege University in 1981, the doctor furthered expertise at Yale University's Experimental Surgery Center in Cardiovascular Surgery. Recognized with numerous accolades, including the Turkish Organ Transplant Society Top Researcher Award, the doctor is a member of several prestigious medical societies, including the American College of Surgeons.
