Dr. Victor Alexander Krol - Chief of Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine and Obesity Treatment Center at Martinus Hospital

Dr. Séverine Iborra is the Chief Physician of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Städtisches Klinikum Solingen. Her responsibilities include obstetrics, the delivery room, the neonatal unit, and gynecology. The department also includes the Senology/Breast Clinic at the Bergisches Breast Center Solingen, led by Dr. Manuela Seifert.

Dr. Séverine Iborra is originally from France. She began her medical studies at the University of Lyon and later transferred to Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, where she received her medical license in 2007. She earned her doctorate in 2008 for experimental research in molecular oncology. From August 2008 to November 2013, Dr. Iborra worked as a resident at the University Women’s Clinic in Freiburg. After passing her specialist exams in gynecology and obstetrics, she continued her career as a specialist at the same clinic. In November 2015, she moved to RWTH University Hospital Aachen as a senior physician.

At the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. E. Stickeler, Dr. Iborra led the obstetrics department from 2017 to 2019. Since December 2017, she was responsible for organizing education in the department, and in October 2019, she became the Managing Senior Physician and Personnel Senior Physician of the clinic, a position she held until she moved to Solingen.

In addition to her scientific work, with numerous publications and presentations at major gynecological conferences, Dr. Iborra deepened her medical specialties. Prof Spiezia works for our private clinic in Naples, Clinica Ruesch. He is also the Head of the Endocrine Surgery Operative Unit at Ospedale del Mare Hospital, specializing in surgical procedures related to endocrine disorders, particularly thyroid and adrenal surgeries. He is also the Head of the Endocrine Surgery Regional Network, and consultant in the field of diagnostics and ultrasound-interventional therapy. 

Professor specializes in all endocrine pathologies with minimally invasive thyroid-saving interventions, on the parathyroids and lymph nodes, through video-assisted techniques, thermoablation with radio frequency for thyroid nodules, microwave thermoablation, and with laser.

He diagnoses the thyroid and lymph nodes by means of ultrasound-guided needle aspiration. Qualified as a robotic surgeon, coordinates training schools in endocrine ultrasound and has promoted various scientific meetings and training courses, emphasizing the care pathways for patients with thyroid pathologies.

Prof Stefano Spiezia holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Naples, graduating cum laude in 1981. He specialized in Emergency Surgery at the same university, obtaining his diploma in 1986. In 1993, he completed a six-month specialization course in Minimally Invasive Surgery, followed by a managerial course in 1996 focused on healthcare organization management. Prof. Dr. Ayla Güven graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1986 and completed her mandatory service at Ege University Chest Diseases Bornova Tuberculosis Dispensary. Following that, she started her specialization training in the Department of Child Health and Diseases at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and became a specialist in 1993. After working as a specialist physician, she began her subspecialty training in Pediatric Endocrinology at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in September 2000 and became a Pediatric Endocrinology specialist in December 2002. In April 2003, she started working as an assistant professor at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine and worked in the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Department at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, USA, between May and November 2003. After returning to Turkey, she continued to work at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine. This clinic was the first to offer Pediatric Endocrinology subspecialty training in the country. During her time there, one person became a Pediatric Endocrinology specialist. On March 13, 2006, she successfully passed the exam and received the title of Associate Professor. Since December 2006, she has been working at Göztepe Training and Research Hospital. In this hospital, she was appointed as the head of the Pediatric Endocrinology clinic in November 2008 and started providing Pediatric Endocrinology subspecialty training for the first time in the hospital in March 2009. Between 2009 and 2017, she trained five Pediatric Endocrinology specialists. Most of the physicians she currently provides subspecialty training to have gained academic titles as professors and associate professors. After working as a training instructor at Health Sciences University Zeynep Kamil Hospital for Children and Women from 2017 to 2021, she retired at her request from public service.
