He graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Barcelona in 1972 with a degree in neurophysiology. HD-EEG monitoring
Electroencephalogram (EEG) with high resolution accurately examines the nature of the epileptic activity and determines the exact localization of the focus.
Examination time: 1-5 days
HD-MRI, according to the epileptic protocol
HD-MRI of the brain contains 200+ sections and is carried out in a particular mode (Flair). It gets detailed images that can be matched with EEG results, and then creates 3D reconstruction of the epilepsy focus. For children, this test is performed under anesthesia.
PET-CT, according to the epileptic protocol
PET-CT confirms the focus localization when planning surgical treatment. It sees the metabolism of glucose in brain cells (neurons).
If necessary, genetic tests are conducted.
