Additional information
Before you come to our hospital for treatment, you may take an online video consultation for a TCM medical assessment. The fee for this video‑based assessment service is 350 US dollars.
This video session will be conducted by senior, highly‑experienced specialists focusing on refractory epilepsy. The video consultation lasts approximately 60‑80 minutes, and online interpretation service is provided.
During the consultation, our doctors will inquire about your medical condition: possible causes of your epilepsy, family medical history including whether any close relatives suffer from epilepsy, your current seizure profile (generalized or focal seizures, daytime or nocturnal episodes, seizure duration and specific symptoms). We will also ask about your current Western‑medicine medications for seizure control, treatment outcomes, and any side‑effects you may experience from these medicines.
Our specialists will explain the different principles behind TCM and Western‑medicine management for epilepsy, as well as how traditional Chinese medicine works for epilepsy. Please note that no Chinese herbal prescriptions for epilepsy will be provided during this video session.
We will review the electroencephalogram (EEG) reports, medical records and past‑medication lists submitted by you.
We will ask about your seizure frequency, symptoms, physical constitution, sleep quality, diet and other relevant conditions.
We will assess whether you are suitable to travel to China for an in‑person consultation at our hospital.
We will explain the overall treatment procedure for patients coming to our hospital, approximate cost range, and the treatment model after your arrival in China.
After the video meeting, an assessment report (without any herbal prescription) will be sent to you, stating whether an in‑person consultation in our hospital is recommended.
This service only provides pre‑arrival medical evaluation and feasibility assessment for treatment in China. It does not include remote diagnosis, issuance of Chinese herbal prescriptions, remote medication adjustment or any remote medical treatment.
