Additional information
1. Procedure Description
This procedure aims to restore knee stability following an ACL tear. The surgeon removes the damaged ligament and replaces it with a graft—typically an autograft using the patient's own hamstring or patellar tendon. Surgery Duration: Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
Technique: Minimally invasive Arthroscopic Surgery is used. This involves small incisions and the use of a camera (arthroscope) to visualize the joint, resulting in less tissue damage and faster recovery.
Clinic Highlights: Our facility utilizes high-definition imaging and advanced fixation techniques (such as interference screws or suspensory devices) to ensure the graft is securely anchored for long-term durability.
2. For Who (Patient Suitability)Target Patients: Individuals experiencing knee instability, "giving way," or persistent pain following a sports injury or trauma.
Requirements: A recent MRI (within 6 months) is essential to confirm the ACL tear and assess any associated meniscus or cartilage damage.
Contraindications: Not recommended for patients with active knee infections or severe degenerative arthritis where a different procedure may be more appropriate.
3. Post-Operation Care & RecommendationsHospital Stay: 2 night for monitoring and pain management. Recovery Timeline: Patients typically begin walking with crutches and a knee brace within 24–48 hours. Physical therapy starts immediately to restore range of motion. Travel Readiness: Patients should stay in-country for at least 7–10 days before flying to ensure wound healing and to complete initial rehabilitation sessions. Preparation: Patients must undergo pre-operative muscle strengthening (pre-hab) if recommended by the surgeon to improve post-op outcomes.
Note: The above package includes standard services only and does not cover patients with complications or medical conditions that fall outside the hospital’s specified terms and conditions. Additional charges may apply, and prices are subject to change without prior notice.
