Bangkok Christian Hospital (BCH): more details about the clinic

Thailand, Bangkok

Bangkok Christian Hospital (BCH) is a multi-specialty medical facility in Bangkok's Bang Rak District. The hospital operates from a central building on Silom Road. It provides 24-hour emergency coverage and specialized outpatient care across multiple departments. The medical team includes 13 doctors who handle both general and complex cases.

Accreditations and Data Security

The hospital follows strict protocols to protect patient information. It holds re-certification for several international security standards:

  • ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for information security management
  • ISO 27799:2016 for health information security

BCH also runs a quality-controlled laboratory system. These processes follow Medical Technology Council standards. This covers the entire diagnostic workflow from automated analysis to structured sample storage.

Specialized Medical Care

Oncology and Internal Medicine

The oncology department provides cancer care based on disease type and stage. Specialists use several systemic treatment methods:

  • Targeted therapy to attack specific cancer cells
  • Immunotherapy to boost the immune response
  • Hormone therapy for hormone-sensitive cancers
  • Standard chemotherapy protocols

Internal medicine covers cardiology, respiratory care, and kidney diseases. The Diabetes and Endocrinology department manages chronic conditions and hormonal disorders. These teams coordinate when patients have multiple health needs.

Surgery and Orthopedics

The hospital performs various surgical procedures through outpatient and specialized departments. The surgical team manages colorectal, thoracic, vascular, and neurosurgical cases. Pediatric and plastic surgery are also available.

The Orthopedic Department treats bone, muscle, and joint conditions. Dr. Kamonchanok Prapasrisuk leads this direction with expertise in hand surgery and microsurgery. Available orthopedic services include:

  • Joint replacement and reconstruction
  • Spine surgery
  • Sports medicine and orthopedic oncology
  • Pediatric orthopedics

Physiotherapy services support patients recovering from musculoskeletal procedures.

Gastroenterology and Hepatology

The Endoscopy Center diagnoses and treats digestive diseases. It uses modern international-standard equipment for internal examinations. Specialists perform colonoscopies with polyp removal and gastroscopies with biopsies.

Liver health is a key focus for the department. Specialists use FibroScan to assess liver fat and scarring without pain. This technology detects hepatic fibrosis early, so patients can skip a traditional liver biopsy.

Women's Health and Ophthalmology

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department is in the Dr. Wells Building. It provides pregnancy follow-up and treatments for cervical abnormalities. The clinic offers LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) for early-stage cervical dysplasia. This outpatient package includes surgeon fees, anesthesia, and preoperative lab tests.

Ophthalmology services are on the 7th floor of the Moberley Building. The eye team treats glaucoma and cataracts. Surgeons perform cataract surgery with intraocular lens (IOL) replacement to restore vision.

Advanced Diagnostic Technologies

The hospital uses high-speed imaging systems to improve diagnostic accuracy. The Philips Spectral CT7500 uses spectral detector technology. This system provides precise diagnostic information while reducing the scan burden for patients. Other diagnostic tools include:

  • Endo-ultrasound and transnasal endoscopy
  • Hysteroscopy and hysterosalpingography
  • Pelvic and abdominal ultrasound
  • Low-radiation chest X-rays

Services for International Patients

BCH provides language support to help international patients communicate with their doctors. Interpreter services are available for various language needs. The hospital also runs a chaplaincy service that offers religious and spiritual care during stays.

The best hospital in Bangkok - Professionalism and integrity over profit. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Bangkok Christian Hospital. This is the second time this hospital has provided me with exceptional care, and I am once again convinced of their high level of professionalism. My first experience was when I had numbness in my leg due to a nerve issue. Unlike other places, they didn’t try to push expensive or unnecessary procedures on me. Instead, they suggested conservative treatment, and I started feeling better almost immediately. Today, my trust in this hospital was solidified. Yesterday, I visited a high-end private hospital in the Rama 9 area regarding an enlarged lymph node. The surgeon there, without even suggesting an ultrasound, immediately proposed a surgery to remove the lymph node for a biopsy. I was shocked by such an approach and decided to seek a second opinion at Bangkok Christian Hospital. The difference was night and day. Here, I was treated with genuine professionalism. The doctors performed an ultrasound, assessed the tissue, and concluded that the condition did not require surgery at all. It is clear that the doctors here are honest, dedicated, and truly care about their patients—they don't just see you as a "wallet." The efficiency is also impressive: I arrived at 7:00 AM and was finished by 9:00 AM, with no long queues or waiting around. Everything was handled perfectly. While the hospital might not look like a fancy five-star hotel, the medical care is far superior to many "luxury" clinics. A huge thank you to the doctors and nurses in the Gynecology department for doctor Sunantha Sinphurmsukskul M.D. and the Ultrasound department for doctor Wilawan Terdbaramee, M.D. Radiologist! You are truly amazing and professional. I wish this place nothing but prosperity. I am incredibly satisfied with my experience, and I now know exactly where to go if I ever need medical help.

A Hospital in Thailand I Would Like to Recommend I would personally like to recommend a hospital in Thailand. During the 17 years I have lived in Thailand, I rarely visited a hospital. One of the main reasons is that medical costs in Thailand can be quite expensive. For foreigners and Thai people living abroad, deciding to go to a hospital is not always easy. Recently, I had the opportunity to receive treatment at Bangkok Christian Hospital, and I was very impressed with the experience. Compared with many other large hospitals, I found the hospital to offer excellent value for money. The doctors, nurses, and medical staff were professional, friendly, and caring. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm smiles and genuine attention from everyone. What impressed me the most was the hospital's free interpreter service for foreign patients. Even though many foreigners can communicate in Thai, medical terminology can be difficult to understand. The interpreters were professional, kind, and explained everything clearly, which made me feel comfortable and confident throughout my treatment. The quality of medical explanations, patient care, and overall service was truly outstanding. For foreigners who are looking for a large hospital with high standards, friendly service, and a comfortable treatment experience, I sincerely recommend Bangkok Christian Hospital based on my personal experience.

I had a very positive experience at this hospital. The overall management is highly efficient and well-organized, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. The medical examination and treatment provided by the doctors were professional, thorough, and reassuring. In addition, the pricing is very reasonable considering the quality of care and service. I would definitely recommend this hospital to others looking for reliable and well-managed healthcare.

Iv had to visit hospitals emergency right after arriving to Bangkok, i was experiencing high fever and heart rate. Right after arriving my blood pressure was measured and just in 15 minutes I was admitted to the doctor for an examination. After swab tests, blood and all other tests i was diagnosed with a strong food poisoning (not in Thailand, but from food before boarding the flight). All the staf was very friendly and caring. I has been put on a ward, and got intravenous medication. And after about 3-4 hours i was feeling much better and was released from the hospital with another medication. Everything costs around 600€. Which was later paid by my insurance. I would like to thank to Dr. Pisanusan and all the staff for helping me and for being so nice.

I stayed at Bangkok Christian Hospital for surgery from September 7-10, 2025. The room was very clean, the facilities were complete, the patient assistants and nurses took very good care of me, the price was reasonable and the doctor who treated me was very skilled. In short, it is a very good hospital. I recommend using this hospital because it is better than other famous private hospitals in Thailand.
