Six periodontal treatment options

Deep cleaning (scaling and root planing): Local anesthesia is used while tartar and bacteria are removed above and below the gums. Root surfaces are smoothed to help gums reattach. Treatment takes 1–2 visits of 1–2 hours, and may cost around $100 per quadrant or $300–$600 for the full mouth. Mild soreness may last a couple of days.
Periodontal maintenance: Cleanings and progress checks are scheduled every 3–4 months after active treatment.
Gum graft surgery: A thin layer of tissue from the patient’s palate covers exposed roots. Recovery takes a few days, with soft foods and medication for pain control and infection prevention.
Bone regeneration or bone graft: This procedure repairs bone lost to periodontitis and may rebuild support needed for implants.
Flap surgery (pocket reduction): The gum is lifted to clean infected areas underneath. Healing can take several weeks with guided aftercare.
Frenectomy: This minor surgery corrects the frenum attachment as part of periodontal care.

Dental Alvarez has an in-house lab with Ceramill Matron and Amann Girrbach CAD/CAM systems. Patients can request a periodontitis consultation through Bookimed.

Person- centered dental care, attentive, exceptional quality dental work. I received comprehensive treatment plan, detailed explanation of each procedure, different options and dentist’s recommendations based on my goals. Facility uses state-of-the-art equipment, high-end materials, has a lab on the premises to accommodate all patient’s needs. Place is very clean and maintained to the high standards, staff is friendly, polite, bilingual and provides excellent care coordination. Transportation shuttle from the border and underground garage available. Office within minutes from the border in safe part of the city. Most important: highly trained, dedicated dental professionals with excellent skills! My husband is many years returning costumer and I will choose Alvarez dental over any US-based dental office. Good buy Beverly Hills- there are better dentists in Alvarez clinic!

I cannot speak highly enough about Dental Alvarez. Over the course of four visits they installed three implants and two crowns. They impressed me from the very beginning with a clean, well-appointed office, state of the art technology, and courteous and professional interaction. I felt comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. My particular dentist was Dr Hilda Rodriguez who is absolutely amazing! She filled me with confidence by her detailed and clear explanations (in English), and by the smoothness which all the procedures went. In her presence, I get the impression that she is supremely competent at what she does. Indeed, I believe I would trust her with my life! My last implant went in over 6 months ago so I have had plenty of time to evaluate them and I absolutely love them! I have had ZERO problems and they are incredibly comfortable and strong. I am reasonably certain they're going to last the rest of my life. The investment and implants was one of the best I have ever made, thanks, in large part, to Dental Alvarez.

I had a great second visit to the office! Dr. Polanco from Dental Alvarez filled two areas in my teeth that were becoming recessed from grinding at night. His work was flawless. To assist for filing my international dental claims, Dr Polanco was very attentive and took photos before and after that I can attach to the claim. The last time I filed my claim directly with my PPO insurance, I received my reimbursement in about 3-4 weeks. A big thanks to Bianca in their office who guided me through the self-claim option versus using a broker! I am relieved that I finally found a dentist office that does excellent work as well as maintains solid records (and prepares the claim forms quickly)! I have already referred two new patients and will have many more come soon!

I’ve been struggling to find affordable (and quality) dental care in California for years. A colleague of mine recommended Dental Alvarez one week ago. I was able to clearly see pricing on their website, it was easy to connect with WhatsApp and I was booked with an appointment within a few days. Drove to TJ this morning for my consult and imaging. It was easy to find the clinic and underground parking made it easy. Be aware that there are only 5 spaces so street parking is necessary of the lot is full. Next time I will take advantage of their free shuttle from the border to see what that’s like. The office is very clean, equipment is brand new and way more high tech than any dentist I’ve worked with in the US. Everyone who works there is friendly and professional. My appointment was at 10am. I was taken next door to get imaging shortly after arriving. Dr. Alex explained exactly what I needed to have done and gave me a printout clearly listing all costs. I opted to start with one filling and a crown. They got to work right away. I was given a temporary crown, booked with my follow-up appointment in two weeks and was out the door and on my home by 11:30. New patient consult, imaging, 1 crown and replacing an old filling cost me 1/4 what it would have in California. It’s an added bonus that everyone is so kind and they let me pick the music we listened to while working. Honestly, dentists in the US could learn a lot from the quality of care and technology used at Dental Alvarez. I am beyond thrilled to have found this clinic and will be coming here for all my dental work in the future!
