Gastric ballooning
During the operation, doctors install a special balloon for patients, which remains in their stomach for 6-12 months. Depending on patient´s initial weight, patient can lose 10-20 kg.
Sleeve gastrectomy
Thanks to sleeve resection, the patient needs less food to feel complete. This is due to a decrease in stomach volume by approximately 80% and a decrease in ghrelin levels. This hormone is responsible for the feeling of hunger; the upper part of the stomach produces it. The final result of the operation is visible after 6 months.
Gastric bypass and revision surgery
After the procedure, patients' food flow changes, passing only through half of the small intestine.
After bariatric surgery, approximately 20% of patients may regain weight. Clinic doctors perform revision surgical interventions on them.
The Lotus Bariatrics team of doctors has a psychologist who motivates patients to follow a diet and correct their eating habits.

I don't know if it could have been improved in any way, so I rate this experience a 10 out of 10
From the beginning the process was adapted to my needs: flight dates and availability.
In only 2 weeks everything was already organised and programmed. The fact that they gave me the planning by days helped a lot, apart from the personalised assistance I received from the coordinator and the dietician. They were able to answer my questions and doubts very quickly and accurately.
They did everything in such a way that it didn't seem complicated at all.
One day I had all the necessary tests, the next day I was operated on, another 3 days in hospital and that was it.
The day of the surgery was a bit tough but the other 3 days were very bearable, with enough painkillers and plenty of saline solution.
The day before the surgery, in the personal interview with the doctor, they gave me as much information as possible and cleared up any doubts, so I already knew beforehand what the process would be.
The hospital staff helped a lot to make my experience a pleasant and positive one.
I don't know if it could have been improved in any way, so I rate this experience a 10 out of 10.

I was very well received thanks to the medical team who took care of me and the travel coordinator. I felt safe thanks to the necessities included in the package I chose (hotel + transfer to the airport). I am extremely pleased that I chose this clinic for such an important step in my life! There is a very friendly and helpful staff, they are always there 24 by 7 and will help you with everything you need (moving around the hospital, support, bring water if you are unable to go for it yourself, make your condition as easy as possible after the operating room, help you take a shower if you need help, comb and braid you hair, they will definitely hold you senile, help you call a taxi to the airport or hotel, tell you what you can visit in Istanbul if you plan to stay there) a wonderful doctor and his assistant came every day and checked my condition, answered all the questions I asked, explained how to cope with problems if they arise. It's been 5 weeks since the operation, I have minus 12 kg and constant support from the clinic. They are super recommended to everyone!!!

AMAZING overall experience, I would recommend 10/10
I had a great experience with dr. Kaplan, he works with care and treats his patience with an utmost care, answering all questions and providing clarity when needed. The coordinator Madina was absolutely lovely, helping us out throughout the entire process making sure that we have everything we need, making this whole process stress free. The nutrition specialist Ece was very helpful not just with providing the plan, adjusting my diet and answering all my questions medically (nutritionally speaking) but she went out of her way to provide comfort to my mother that was accompanying me on this medical journey, which was immeasurably sweet and thoughtful. AMAZING overall experience, I would recommend 10/10.

At first I was really nervous and I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into - I just knew I had to do something about the weight I had gained and let me tell you, my experience exceeded my expectations!!
The team are AMAZING at what they do.
The nurse, Madina, is absolutely phenomenal and has such a beautiful soul who genuinely cares about you physically, mentally and emotionally.
The nutritionist, Nur, is such a realist and incredible at what she does, she is so informative and explains everything you need to know thoroughly.
And finally the surgeon, Dr Kaplan Baha Temizgonul, is undoubtedly such a genuine man who guides and supports you throughout the process as well as answers any questions you may have regarding the surgery and aftercare. He is 100% amazing at what he does and ensures you feel comfortable the entire time.
The communication is great, even when you fly back as you can always express any concerns you may have and they’ll deal with it accordingly.
The pain after surgery only lasted a few hours and got better and better with the care of the wonderful hospital staff. I don’t think I would’ve felt as cared for if it weren’t for the staff.
If you are interested, you NEED to go to Dr Baha as he is the best in the industry. I’m 100% convinced you won’t get a better service elsewhere.
