Glaucoma surgery in Pentagram Eye Hospital and Medical Center

Pentagram Eye Hospital and Medical Center is a Sofia-based healthcare facility founded in 2012, known for combining specialized ophthalmology with accessible diagnostics across multiple departments. At the core of the hospital is the Eye Diseases Center, equipped for precise diagnosis and treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, and diseases of the retina, vitreous body, and cornea, as well as eyelid conditions and dry eye. Refractive patients can also receive laser correction for hyperopia, myopia, and astigmatism. The clinic’s daily practice highlights key areas including cataract, refractive laser correction, glaucoma, eyelid disorders, retinal and vitreous diseases, corneal diseases, “dry eye” syndrome, and keratoplasty. Beyond ophthalmology, Pentagram offers Obstetrics and Gynecology with preventive examinations and early cervical cancer screening, along with microbiological diagnostics and colposcopy. The Obstetrics and Gynecology office also includes breast ultrasound and specialized ultrasound diagnostics of pregnancy, with a dedicated focus on pregnancy monitoring packages. Endocrinology services cover preventive examinations, hormonal testing and interpretation, ultrasound diagnostics of glands, conservative treatment of endocrine diseases, and ongoing monitoring. Cardiology consultations are supported by examinations that include echocardiography, and other cardiac diagnostics for cardiovascular disease assessment. The clinic also provides Neurology diagnostics and treatment for central and peripheral nervous system disorders, addressing headaches and migraines, stroke, neuralgia, peripheral neuropathies, sleep disorders, Parkinsonian syndromes, and related conditions. For ENT, the clinic states modern diagnostics and treatment for ENT-related conditions in adults and children, including common adult ENT problems such as sinusitis and rhinitis (including allergic rhinitis), as well as ear conditions including acute and chronic otitis. For diagnostics, Pentagram’s clinical laboratory is presented as the foundation for early and precise diagnosis, treatment monitoring, assessing recovery, and translating lab results into clinical decisions. The laboratory is accredited with the highest rating by the Ministry of Health and is part of the Bulgarian National System for External Laboratory Control. The lab works with referrals from NHIF (excluding Saturdays and Sundays), private health insurance funds, corporate clients under preventive programs, and fee-paying patients. Pentagram highlights quality and safety initiatives through ISO 9001:2015 certification and awards recognizing medical quality and innovation, including “Hospital of the Year” for 2025 and an innovation and good practices award for 2024. Leadership includes Dr. Vesselin Daskalov as Director, with 38 years of ophthalmology experience, and the clinic’s team profile also includes additional administrative and nursing roles supporting day-to-day care. With 9 employees, the clinic positions itself as a focused, multi-department facility where patients can receive coordinated diagnostics and consultations without moving between providers. International patients are also supported through the clinic’s stated international operation and by offering services that include both outpatient diagnostics and procedures described within each department’s care pathways.
