Kidney cancer Treatment in Safe Urology Clinic
About the clinic
Kidney cancer treatment at Safe Urology Clinic in Istanbul, Turkey, focuses on minimally invasive and organ-sparing techniques. Diagnostics such as an oncological check-up for men may cost around $1,000–$2,000, while a testicular biopsy is around $1,000–$3,000. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuncay Taş leads the urological oncology department with over 20 years of experience and specialized fellowship training from Heidelberg University in Germany.
Diagnostic screening for kidney cancer
The clinic provides specialized screening packages to detect urological cancers at early stages. These evaluations help the medical team determine the size and location of a tumor before choosing a surgical path. Patients typically receive their results while staying in Istanbul for the duration of the diagnostic phase.
- Oncological check-up for man. This package includes several tests for cancer screening and may cost around $1,000–$2,000.
- Testicular biopsy. This procedure involves taking a tissue sample and typically runs $1,000–$3,000.
Advanced surgical options
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuncay Taş has over 10 years of experience in laparoscopic radical nephrectomy, performing 30+ operations every month. The clinic uses partner hospitals that hold JCI accreditation and is recognized as a Coloplast Center of Excellence. Surgery choices depend on the tumor size and the need to preserve kidney function.
- Partial nephrectomy. This organ-sparing surgery removes only the tumor. It is ideal for tumors between 4 cm and 7 cm and helps keep the kidney working.
- Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy. This minimally invasive method uses small incisions to remove the kidney. It works well for tumors up to 10 cm and shortens hospital stays compared to open surgery.
- Robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical nephrectomy. Using a robotic surgical system, the doctor gains better precision and maneuverability during the 2-hour procedure.
- Robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. This method combines robotic precision with nerve-sparing techniques to remove only the cancerous tissue.
Recovery and patient support
Most surgical procedures for kidney cancer at this facility involve 2 hours of general anesthesia and a 4-day hospital stay. The total time required in Istanbul is around 7 days. While patients can usually return to work in about 4 weeks, the clinic provides VIP transfers and multilingual support to help during the stay. International patients work with dedicated representatives throughout the treatment process. You can request a consultation through Bookimed to review your medical files with the specialist.

Dr. Taş and his team performed the first PRP (P-Shot) and double PRP applications to the penis in Turkey, and published their clinical results on the efficacy of PRP in erectile dysfunction.
The team also achieved several national firsts in the field of regenerative urology and andrology:
- Cord-derived stem cell injection into the penis;
- Clinical SVF (stromal vascular fraction) therapy performed under sterile operating-room conditions and presented at international congresses;
- Bone-marrow-derived stem cell injection;
- ExoShot and StemBio laboratory exosome injections into the rete testis, launching the first clinical study in Turkey on azoospermia and severe oligospermia;
- Introduction of the Spartan Package, performing flaccid penile lengthening via a scar-free endoscopic technique;
- Autologous fat transfer enriched with stem cells to the penis.
Dr. Taş was among the first three physicians in Turkey (since 2012) to perform FDA-approved ED-1000 shock wave therapy, pioneering its scientific and clinical application for erectile dysfunction and vascular regeneration.
Dr. Taş and his team presented the results of combined PRP (Male P-Shot) and SVF applications to the penis for the first time in Turkey at a scientific congress, sharing the clinical outcomes of these regenerative therapies. He leads one of the first five centers worldwide to publish peer-reviewed clinical results of PRP (P-Shot) therapy and serves as a urology instructor at ISSCA, remaining actively involved in clinical regenerative medicine.
