Rudolfinerhaus is a private, multi-disciplinary hospital in the elegant 19th district of Vienna, set in a large park at the edge of the Vienna Woods. It was founded in 1882 by Theodor Billroth, the surgeon regarded as the father of modern abdominal surgery, and takes its name from its patron, Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria-Hungary.
