Zygomatic implants at Unident Clinic in Tirana, Albania, provide a solution for patients with severe upper jaw bone loss. This advanced procedure allows for fixed teeth even when traditional implants are not possible. The clinic serves around 3,000+ patients every year and uses 3D diagnostics for precise surgical planning.
Zygomatic implants differ from standard versions because they anchor into the cheekbone. This bone is much denser than the jawbone, which helps provide high stability. This method is helpful for patients with significant bone resorption who want to avoid bone grafting. By using the cheekbone, the surgeon can skip months of waiting for bone grafts to heal. Patients often receive their fixed teeth in a short period after the surgery.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery specialists perform these complex procedures at the clinic. Dr. Igli Mëcuku, the founder and chief doctor, leads the surgical team. Dr. Mëcuku trained at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and conducted research on reinforced membranes. The clinic uses internationally recognized implant systems and certified materials to help get reliable results. Every case begins with a 3D assessment to map the bone structure before the surgery starts.
The clinic follows strict sterilization and hygiene protocols for every procedure. For patients who feel anxious about dental work, conscious sedation is available. This helps the patient stay relaxed during the implant placement. Zygomatic implants can also be part of a full arch rehabilitation, such as the All-on-4 Zigoma system. This approach creates a complete fixed smile for patients who have lost all their upper teeth.
