Nordwest Clinic (Krankenhaus)
Michael Van Kampen
In Nordwest Clinic radiation for throat cancer is applied in the Radiation Oncology Department. Physicians utilize contemporary patient-oriented technologies. Over 1,400 patients undergo treatment in the Department annually. Radiologists apply the following types of radiotherapy for throat cancer:
- tumor irradiation during surgical procedure (IORT);
- image device assisted radiotherapy (IGRT);
- intensity modulated therapy (IMRT).
At Nordwest patients are provided with supportive and rehabilitation programs, aimed to minimize side effects caused by the treatment. The cost of radiation therapy for throat cancer depends on chosen treatment program and duration of hospital stay.
