Dyakoy for the Bookimed project, so this wasn’t so bad
Those who I almost wanted - pochula, claims mute. Briefly, zrozumіlo, distinctly. So, I’m lіkar, in my menu I’ve got a list of food, I have reproved them for selling and selling them for the price of money. At the moment, the situation is checked. I myself would not have been able to organize a conference call, too, I’m setting an estimate. Dyakoy for the Bookimed project, so this wasn’t so bad. Agony to you - you will master the good

In addition to being satisfied with the level of professionalism of the medical staff, the equipment and the capabilities of the clinic, I would like to note the comprehensive assistance provided by BOOKIMED manager Anastasia and our coordinator at the clinic, Alexandra, for their support at all times: from arrival, accommodation, translations and explanations, to always being available and helping with all questions - from the necessary route to obtaining all the necessary medical documents
Thank you very much for providing me with all the necessary assistance and support at every stage: choosing a clinic and doctor, accompanying me upon arrival at the clinic and introducing me to Professor Korillos, providing the necessary translations and detailed explanations of all stages of treatment, and answering all my questions both inside and outside the clinic. In addition to being satisfied with the level of professionalism of the medical staff, the equipment and the capabilities of the clinic, I would like to note the comprehensive assistance provided by BOOKIMED manager Anastasia and our coordinator at the clinic, Alexandra, for their support at all times: from arrival, accommodation, translations and explanations, to always being available and helping with all questions - from the necessary route to obtaining all the necessary medical documents.
I appreciated the detailed analysis and explanation of all stages of treatment, the surgery performed, and the follow-up care and recommendations.

The hospital is on the level, I felt calm there, I have complete trust in the doctors, you can calmly go for treatment
With the organization of medical services, everything went clearly according to the previous plan. Tatyana, the representative of the company, is very communicative, explains everything, no complaints, even came at 7.30 for the procedure, although there was no translation. I made a slight remark, the price for some services was not announced to me , but in fact it was added... These side effects must also be voiced before the trip...... The hospital is on the level, I felt calm there, I have complete trust in the doctors, you can calmly go for treatment.....

I am writing a review for those people who are in the same difficult situation as our family. Just want to warn, think before you go here. They did not help us ... Moreover, now we understand that they simply did not tell us the truth, promised treatment that everything would be fine and we believed in it, sincerely! They didn’t save on treatment, did everything they recommended, but they just cheerlessly pumped chemistry and prescribed unnecessary consultations like a physiotherapist with charging a hopelessly sick person !!! The company "phoenix" is a soulless creature with the function of receiving money, I don’t even know how to call them anymore ... Doctor Professor Eger also smiled on detours and said that everything would be fine and didn’t even tell the family that the situation was getting worse, she appointed procedures ... As we now understand, everything was clear for a long time, we just wanted to be "treated" because we paid. They tortured our daddy heartlessly and cynically for money !!! Curator Stoyanova stopped responding to letters and the phone immediately, as soon as they informed her that the patient no longer exists. NO ONE! neither she, nor "phoenix", nor the clinic, they even expressed condolences ... It hurts to realize that nothing human is left in people ... We scolded our Russian doctors, and they just told us the truth right away

Not good. The people that I had appointments with did not show up. I met with others who seemed to doubt my records and then claimed that my medical imaging showed no problems whatsoever. I returned home and now seem to have pneumonia in the top of my lungs around the vertebra that are known to have lesions (T1,T2,T3). I consider your service to be a fraud.

My husband and I are very pleased that we made an appointment with Professor Elka Yeager. The examination was carried out on all areas of the body that interest us, and a chemotherapy course was prescribed based on the results of the examination. The first session was held in a hospital clinic. The host company worked very professionally, with great attention to patients. Many thanks to all and best wishes from us!

"I'm very pleased with the treatment
My name is Sergey, I am undergoing treatment at the oncology department of the Nordwest Clinic in Frankfurt am Main. I would like to note the high professional level of doctors, the technical equipment of the clinic at the proper level. I want to express special gratitude to Professor Elka Yeager, senior doctor Kiselichki, Dr. Weber, the highest level of professionalism, are very friendly and attentive, the junior staff are smart, everything is super, I’m very pleased with the treatment, if not for one “but” ... Because of ignorance language had to contact the company "Phoenix Service", which is an intermediary for the provision of medical services, led by Radislav. My communication with them began with the fact that before arrival they demanded a significant prepayment, which was timely transferred to their account. After arriving at the clinic, I had to transfer money several times, rather big money. I persistently asked the company’s employees to conclude an agreement with me on the provision of services by Phoenix Service, in order to specifically understand which services and for what specific payment the services will be provided. However, no contracts, as well as invoices with prices, were provided to me, which directly testifies to dishonesty. Only two months later I received the clinic’s bills (with which I completely agree) and separately a bill from Phoenix Service for the services rendered, after viewing which there were simply no words ... As it turned out, being treated in Germany was not expensive, it was expensive to pay for the services of Phoenix invoiced, which either didn’t turn out at all, or turned out to be in the wrong amount and at very high prices. I tried to talk with the head of the company Radislav, saying that I did not agree with the bill, to which I received the answer "if something does not suit you, you can refuse our services further." I officially wrote an appeal to the clinic about the detachment from this dishonest company, to which I received a positive response. He also wrote an official letter to Phoenix with a request to review the account, to which he still has not received an answer. I want to warn everyone who is in my position, those cancer patients who sell everything in order to pay for treatment and live on, but these “phoenixes” don’t stop at anything to enrich themselves at their expense.

He answered all my initial questions and the ones I've sent after his initial answers in meter of few days
I requested a second opinion for the treatment of prostate cancer for my dad. The cosultation was provided in written by Prof. Dr. med. Sebastian Melchior. He answered all my initial questions and the ones I've sent after his initial answers in meter of few days. This helped us in understanding better the situation and possible options. However due to the fact that most of the answers were of general rather specific nature, in the end we are still not sure what is the better treatment in our case.

"The doctor told us - you came here with a fatal diagnosis, but you came out as a healthy person!" Return: About the Doctor: "We were offered a Park-Klinik Weißensee, Dr
My mother was diagnosed in Russia with a terrible diagnosis - breast cancer stage 4. The doctors' actions were not credible, so we turned to Bookimed for the selection of a clinic and a doctor. We were offered a Park-Klinik Weißensee, Dr. Ursula Makowiec. Mom passed a 3-day examination in the hospital, in a separate ward. Friendly atmosphere, professionalism, respect for the elderly patient - all this allowed us to relax, not to try to control every step of the medical staff, to read the articles on the Internet. I was sure that we made the right choice. And most importantly - the diagnosis was not confirmed! My mother was not breast cancer with metastases, but a sweat cancer in the armpit without any signs of metastases, the prognosis is much more favorable. The doctor told us - you came here with a fatal diagnosis, but you came out as a healthy person! We plan to be observed further in this clinic with this doctor. I would also like to thank the translator Marina Wernke. She was not only an excellent professional, but also a very pleasant conversationalist, we were very comfortable with her. I also want to thank the curators who helped a lot all the time while mom was in the clinic.

Coordinators Anna and Varvara (Bookimed) and Olga (Nordwest) assisted in every request, were sympathetic, professional and nice. Professor Yeager gave detailed advice and comments on the research and nuances of the disease. After the visit to Nordwest, much was cleared up and a hope and a positive attitude emerged. Thank you!

Everything is clear and reasonable
Immediately I will note not the intrusive and at the same time "essentially" made by Alena presentation of the clinic. And really everything turned out to be as they described to me: the doctor explained how he sees my situation, what kind of opinion of Moscow doctors he agrees with, and what does not and what he proposes to do. Everything is clear and reasonable.

"I advise everyone here to contact!"
Hello! My dad was diagnosed with a diagnosis in the clinic: adenomatic stomach carcinoma of the 3rd stage. Doctors, nurses and accompanying personnel are qualified professionals, very attentive! All procedures are made as necessary, and not for profit. The only thing that is embarrassing is the menu for people without a stomach. (They gave it hot and fried) Accompanying company takes you from the airport on the day of arrival to the airport on the day of departure. In general, from the time of the first call to today, everyone is happy! I advise everyone here to contact!

FAQ about Immunotherapy for kidney cancer in Germany

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How does immunotherapy work against kidney cancer?

Immunotherapy for kidney cancer activates the immune system to identify and destroy malignant cells rather than attacking them directly. This approach utilizes checkpoint inhibitors to block proteins like PD-1 and CTLA-4, effectively removing the biological brakes that cancer cells use to hide from T-cells.

  • Checkpoint inhibitors: Drugs like pembrolizumab block PD-1 proteins to restore natural T-cell tumor recognition.
  • Combination protocols: Pairing immune boosters with targeted therapies often improves outcomes for metastatic cases.
  • Immunologic memory: Reprogrammed immune cells can provide long-term protection and prevent future cancer recurrence.
  • German expertise: Clinics like Nordwest Clinic utilize specialized research institutes to innovate anticancer vaccine therapies.

Bookimed Expert Insight: German oncology centers often integrate molecular diagnostics into immunotherapy planning. Experts like Dr. Viola Fox at Solingen Medical Center use these results to select precise drug combinations. This data-driven approach is why Germany remains a top global destination for complex kidney cancer cases.

Patient Consensus: Patients describe the treatment as taking the brakes off their defenses. They emphasize the importance of monitoring for skin or gut changes after treatment begins.

What are the success rates or expected survival benefits with immunotherapy for advanced kidney cancer?

Immunotherapy for advanced kidney cancer in Germany leverages immune checkpoint inhibitors to significantly improve long-term outcomes. The average five-year survival rate has reached 40%, with median overall survival extending toward 5 years. This approach utilizes drugs like Nivolumab and Pembrolizumab to activate the immune system against malignant cells.

  • Survival benchmarks: Historical rates of 15% have risen to approximately 40% with modern immunotherapy.
  • Response duration: Landmark trials show 31% of dual immunotherapy patients survive beyond 9 years.
  • Combination efficacy: Adding targeted therapy increases objective response rates to between 60% and 70%.
  • Treatment-free periods: Many patients maintain durable remission even after stopping medication due to toxicity.

Bookimed Expert Insight: German oncology centers like Nordwest Clinic utilize interdisciplinary cancer centers to combine immunotherapy with molecular diagnostics. This precision approach allows doctors to predict which patients will achieve `treatment-free survival.` Data shows that specialized clinics in Frankfurt and Solingen favor these combinations to maximize long-term remission over simple tumor shrinkage.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize that while immunotherapy is not a guaranteed cure, it offers the unique possibility of multi-year disease control. Many note that durable benefits are often worth managing side effects like fatigue or thyroid issues.

Which immunotherapy protocols are used as first-line treatments in Germany?

First-line immunotherapy in Germany for kidney cancer follows National S3 Clinical Practice Guidelines and European Medicines Agency (EMA) standards. Primary protocols involve immune checkpoint inhibitor combinations (Nivolumab plus Ipilimumab) or combining immunotherapy with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (Pembrolizumab plus Axitinib or Nivolumab plus Cabozantinib).

  • Protocol selection: Choice depends on International mRCC Database Consortium (IMDC) risk stratification.
  • Dual immunotherapy: Nivolumab and Ipilimumab target intermediate to poor-risk metastatic clear-cell carcinoma.
  • IO/TKI combinations: Pembrolizumab plus Lenvatinib or Axitinib serve all risk categories effectively.
  • Regulatory compliance: Treatments utilize European Medicines Agency (EMA) approved drugs in certified centers.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Germany excels in high-volume oncology care with centers like Nordwest Clinic treating 61,000 patients annually. While standard IO/TKI protocols are typical, leading German clinics integrate advanced molecular diagnostics via research institutes to refine these combinations. This allows surgeons to pivot quickly between regimens if early response markers suggest a need for faster disease control.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize that immunotherapy for kidney cancer almost always involves a combination regimen rather than a single drug. Many advise confirming whether an IO/TKI or dual-immunotherapy protocol best suits your specific metastatic risk profile before starting treatment.

What side effects should be expected with kidney-cancer immunotherapy, and how are they managed in Germany?

Kidney cancer immunotherapy in Germany typically causes fatigue, skin rashes, and thyroid dysfunction. German oncology centers manage these through structured Immune Boards and strict German Cancer Society protocols. Treatment involves continuous lab monitoring to detect organ inflammation early, using high-dose corticosteroids to suppress overactive immune responses.

  • Standardized monitoring: Clinics mandate blood and urine panels before every cycle to check organ function.
  • Toxicity grading: Doctors use international scales to trigger immediate treatment pauses for moderate symptoms.
  • Interdisciplinary boards: Oncologists collaborate with pulmonologists or gastroenterologists within hospital networks like Nordwest Clinic.
  • Emergency access: Patients receive 24-hour oncology hotlines to report red-flag symptoms like sudden breathlessness.

Bookimed Expert Insight: German clinics like Nordwest Clinic utilize a research-driven approach where immunotherapy is often integrated with molecular diagnostics. This allows surgeons like Dr. Viola Fox to identify silent organ inflammation through retention parameters before physical symptoms occur. Patients should prioritize clinics with TÜV or KTQ certifications as these guarantee the rigorous safety frameworks required for managing complex immune reactions.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize never normalizing new symptoms like mild diarrhea or unusual weakness. Many noted that keeping a written log helps specialists distinguish between minor illnesses and serious immune-related toxicities.

What advanced immunotherapy options are available in Germany that may not be widely accessible elsewhere?

Germany leads in precision oncology by offering personalized anticancer vaccines and advanced combination protocols. Specialized treatments include dendritic cell vaccines produced in GMP-certified laboratories and mRNA-based neoantigen therapies. Clinics like Nordwest utilize these alongside regional hyperthermia to enhance immune response in complex cases.

  • Anticancer vaccines: Nordwest Clinic specializes in vaccines to prevent recurrence of aggressive tumors.
  • Combination protocols: Access to dual-checkpoint inhibitors like Nivolumab and Ipilimumab for metastatic cases.
  • Specialized supervision: Chief physician Viola Fox oversees immunotherapy at a certified Solingen cancer center.
  • Advanced sequencing: Expert multidisciplinary tumor boards provide second opinions on post-immunotherapy rechallenge strategies.

Bookimed Expert Insight: German oncology centers utilize a dual-track approach where they combine biological stressors like regional hyperthermia with standard immunotherapy. This biophysical heating at 41–43°C improves tumor permeability. It allows drugs to reach the malignant core more effectively than systemic administration alone.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that major German university hospitals provide faster access to advanced checkpoint-inhibitor combinations. They emphasize that success often depends on having complete pathology reports ready for multidisciplinary review.

How long should I plan to stay in Germany for initial immunotherapy treatment?

Initial immunotherapy in Germany typically requires staying 8 to 15 days for standard checkpoint inhibitors. Patients receiving personalized vaccines or CAR T-cell therapy may need up to 5 weeks. This duration covers diagnostics, lab work, treatment administration, and essential observation for immediate immune-related side effects.

  • Checkpoint inhibitors: Plan for 8 to 15 days to manage staging and first infusions.
  • Dendritic cell therapy: Expect a 5-week protocol or two separate trips for cell collection and injection.
  • CAR T-cell therapy: A 3-week stay is standard for cell harvesting and mandatory hospital monitoring.
  • Diagnostics phase: The first 3 days usually involve advanced imaging and blood collection.

Bookimed Expert Insight: German clinics like Nordwest often utilize their 11 specialized centers to fast-track diagnostics. You can often compress your stay by sending medical records for review before arrival. This allows the clinic to schedule scans and infusions consecutively rather than waiting for results locally. We see this reduce the initial diagnostic window from 5 days down to 2.

Patient Consensus: Patients suggest arriving a few days early to handle paperwork and stabilize before therapy. Most emphasize that while infusions are often outpatient, the coordination of first-round tests determines your total stay.

Can international patients enroll in German clinical trials for kidney-cancer immunotherapy?

International patients can enroll in German immunotherapy clinical trials by meeting strict medical criteria and securing funding. Germany is a premier research hub where university hospitals offer dendritic cell vaccines and checkpoint inhibitors. Successful enrollment requires a genetic match to trial protocols and the ability to travel for long-term follow-up care.

  • Medical eligibility: Genetic tumor profiling must match the trial inclusion criteria exactly.
  • Pre-screening process: German oncologists review pathology and imaging records remotely before the on-site evaluation.
  • Financial requirements: International patients must cover diagnostic, hospital, and administrative fees out-of-pocket.
  • Logistical needs: A medical visa and official invitation from the hosting hospital are required.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Focus on research-heavy centers like Nordwest Clinic in Frankfurt, which operates 5 dedicated research institutes. Data shows that clinics with high patient volumes, like their 61,000 annual patients, often have more active trials. Prioritizing these large research hubs can increase your chances of finding an open slot for advanced immunotherapy vaccines.

Patient Consensus: Many find that medical protocol is rarely the biggest barrier. Success often depends on navigating logistics like language support and organizing the repeated travel required for strict follow-up schedules.
