Despite being connected to radioactive exposure, radioiodine therapy has proven to be relatively harmless for recipient's health. There is no evidence of irradiation in 2 weeks after the procedure.
Depending on the dosage of medicine, patients may be required to stay in radio isolated ward for a brief period after the treatment has been carried out.
