I'm very happy with the results I'm seeing so far and anticipate being even happier as the swelling goes down and my new figure fully reveals itself
Dr Ana was very sweet and helpful as was her daughter Louise. Despite the language barrier they were able to communicate to me what the procedure was going to be in terms of medical tests on surgery day. The anesthetist was wonderful and easy to communicate with. The nurses who tended to me post procedure were very kind, but there was definitely a language barrier. I had hoped to be able to use my phones translator, but did not anticipate how difficult it would be for me to move after the procedure often times I would not be able to reach my phone. Once I arrived there, there were some nominal unanticipated additional costs that I was not made aware of. Specifically, $200 a night to sleep another night in the clinic when I was too swollen and sore to move and wasn't going to be able to get on a plane just yet. I stayed in a nice hotel the night before the procedure and paid only $77 for that accommodation. It would be different if they had been bringing me juice and water frequently or otherwise caring for me, but I often found myself dehydrated and lacking cold water. I appreciate that they brought me food, but all of the food that they brought me was so dry that I could not eat it because my mouth was already so dry. They were very sweet to go and get me and ice cream when I asked for a popsicle. Otherwise you got whatever they gave you, whenever they decided to give it to you. The rest of the time I was just left alone in my room, which was fine because I really was not able to move. There are times and it would have been helpful to have someone nearby to hand me lip balm from my bag, but generally I was left by myself. I am 2 weeks out from my procedure so I'm still very swollen, St iff and sore, but I can tell that the surgeon did an excellent job with my procedure. I'm very happy with the results I'm seeing so far and anticipate being even happier as the swelling goes down and my new figure fully reveals itself. This is not the same kind of experience as having cosmetic surgery in the states. There's very little consultation/ pre-op care other than the scheduling. The Aftercare is almost non-existent. I was prepared for that and so I had real significant complaints outside of the lack of pain management offered post procedure.
About Bookimed service
The interface is very easy to use and I was able to get quotes quickly, choose a clinic and book my procedure within a few weeks. I had a very specific time frame that I had already purchased airfare to San Diego for, and the clinic was very accommodating.

I like how fast and easy it was from the start. The surgical facility was small but worked fine. I did not like the post op care. The night nurse was terrible. Her patients were not a priority. Post op care was not made clear. I would have preferred more detailed instructions on after care. I was left guessing about bandages, sprays, medications and scar treatment. Doctor repaired a hernia, of which I was grateful, but would have preferred to have price list in case this occurred so I could have been prepared financially. I felt like price was just made up. So I don't know if I was overcharged. I liked Mexicali as it was a nice quiet clean town. All in all experience was not bad and the price was affordable.

Many clinics offer patient coordinators who provide emotional support throughout your stay. Additionally, consider bringing a companion or connecting with online support groups where you can share experiences with others undergoing similar procedures.

How do I verify the accreditation of the clinic or hospital in Mexico?

You can verify accreditation through organizations such as JCI, which lists accredited facilities on their website. Additionally, consult the clinic directly for documentation of their certifications and affiliations with recognized medical bodies.

What are the differences in medical standards between Mexico and my home country?

Medical standards in Mexico can vary widely; however, many clinics adhere to international standards similar to those in the US or Europe. Accreditation by organizations like JCI ensures that facilities meet stringent safety and quality benchmarks.

How long should I plan to stay in Mexico for the procedure and initial recovery?

You should plan to stay in Mexico for at least one week, allowing time for pre-operative consultations, the surgery itself, and initial recovery under medical supervision. This duration helps ensure you're stable enough for travel back home.

What are the hidden costs associated with traveling to Mexico for surgery?

Hidden costs can include travel expenses, additional hotel nights beyond what's included, meals, and transportation within Mexico. It's crucial to budget for these extras alongside the procedure cost to avoid unexpected financial burdens.

How do I handle post-operative emergencies once I'm back home?

If a post-operative emergency arises after returning home, contact your local healthcare provider immediately. It's also important to inform your Mexican surgeon about the situation, as they may offer guidance or coordinate care with your local physician.

What follow-up care is required after returning home from 360 Liposuction in Mexico?

Follow-up care typically includes virtual consultations at intervals such as one week, one month, and three months post-surgery. These appointments help monitor your recovery progress and address any concerns you may have once you're back home.

Will there be language barriers when communicating with medical staff in Mexico?

Many clinics catering to international patients have English-speaking staff or offer translation services. It's advisable to confirm this before your trip to ensure effective communication during consultations and post-operative care.

What should I know about the recovery process after having 360 Liposuction in Mexico?

Recovery from 360 Liposuction typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, with initial swelling and bruising subsiding within a few weeks. Patients are advised to wear compression garments, avoid strenuous activities, and follow post-operative care instructions provided by their surgeon for optimal healing.

Is it safe to travel to Mexico for a cosmetic procedure like 360 Liposuction?

Traveling to Mexico for cosmetic procedures can be safe if you choose a certified clinic with experienced surgeons. Ensure that the facility is accredited by international standards, such as those set by the JCI, which indicates adherence to high safety protocols.

How can I ensure the surgeon in Mexico is qualified and experienced?
