Professor Dina Ben-Yehuda is a leading oncohematologist in Israel. She directs the Hematology Department at Hadassah Medical Center. She founded the laboratory for molecular diagnostics of blood diseases. She is known for her research in malignant blood diseases, bone marrow transplantation, gene therapy, and immunology.
Prof. Ben-Yehuda completed her postgraduate training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She has led Hadassah’s hematology department since 2000. In 2017, she became the first woman to serve as Dean of the Hadassah School of Medicine. She has received the Danielle Sonnenfeld Foundation’s Healing with the Heart Award. She is also a member of several national and international hematology societies.

At the beginning of her career, Dina Ben-Yehuda entered the Faculty of Medicine at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
After three years of postgraduate study at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, Dina Ben-Yehuda returned to Hadassah in 1992.
In April 2000, the professor was appointed director of the hematology department.
In 2017, Professor Ben-Yehuda became the 23rd Dean of Hadassah School of Medicine and the first woman to head the medical faculty, which has a history of more than 70 years.
Professor Dina Ben-Yehuda became the first female soldier to receive the Chief of Staff Award for her initiative in collecting information on those killed or missing in action during combat.
Dina Ben-Yehuda was recently awarded the Danielle Sonnenfeld Foundation's Healing with the Heart Award. The honorary award is given to doctors and nurses who go beyond their profession and do more for their patients than is dictated by medical ethics.
