Kyung Hee Kim

Dr. Kyung-Hee Kim, MD, PhD is a highly experienced cardiologist at Incheon Sejong Hospital, serving as the Director of the Heart Transplantation Center and Head of Cardiology. She earned her medical degree and postgraduate training, including both Master’s and Doctoral degrees, from Seoul National University College of Medicine. Dr. Kim completed advanced clinical training in cardiology and has pursued international fellowships, including research at the Mayo Clinic and other leading cardiovascular centers.

Dr. Kim is internationally recognized for her expertise in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation evaluation and management, mechanical circulatory support such as VAD (ventricular assist devices) and ECMO, as well as pulmonary hypertension and complex cardiomyopathies. She also specializes in care for patients with genetic heart disorders, valvular heart disease, and adult congenital heart disease, integrating cutting-edge diagnostics with personalized long-term treatment plans. 

In her leadership roles at Incheon Sejong Hospital, Dr. Kim directs multidisciplinary care teams that collaborate across cardiac surgery, imaging, and intensive care to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with critical cardiac conditions. She has played a central role in shaping clinical protocols and educational programs, and her expertise has been recognized through prestigious awards and international appointments. Notably, Dr. Kim was appointed to the American Heart Association’s Clinical Cardiology Membership Committee, marking a significant international leadership role for a Korean cardiologist.

Dr. Kim is also an active contributor to cardiology research and guideline development. She has served as a committee leader in national and international professional societies and participates in development of clinical practice guidelines in pulmonary hypertension and heart failure.
