Dr. Sacu received the Theodor-Koerner Science Prize in 2003. He is an active member of the DGII and ESCRS. He has played a key role in clinical teaching. His published research on anti-VEGF therapies and retinal vein occlusions has established him as a leading expert in ophthalmology.

Stefan Sacu, MD, has been a resident at the Department of Ophthalmology, Medical University of Vienna, since 1999. His research interests include cataract surgery and PCO retina and macula. He taught ophthalmology to the nursing staff from 2003 -2004 at the Kaiserin- Elisabeth-Hospital,Vienna,and since 2001, he has taught practical ophthalmology for medical students at the Medical University of Vienna. His awards include the May 2003 “Theodor-Koerner Science Price”. Dr. Sacu is a member of the DGII (German Speaking Society of Intraocular Lens Implantation) and ESCRS (European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons)
