Yavuz Selim Yildirim

Prof. Dr. Yavuz Selim Yildirim is a dual-certified specialist in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery. He holds the title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Yildirim is also a Fellow of the European Board of ORL-HNS.

Clinical Expertise and Specialized Focus

Dr. Yildirim specializes in functional and aesthetic procedures of the head and neck. He treats conditions such as sensorineural hearing loss, nasal polyps, and deviated septums. Additionally, he manages balance disorders and nasal polyposis.

The surgeon performs several types of procedures, including:

• Aesthetic nose surgery, including open, closed, and revision rhinoplasty
• Cochlear implant placement – a surgical procedure that implants a device to provide a sense of sound to a person who is profoundly deaf or severely hard-of-hearing

Academic and Professional Background

Dr. Yildirim earned his medical degree from the Istanbul School of Medicine in 2005. He later completed his residency at Haseki Teaching and Research Hospital in 2010. He also earned a Master's Degree in Hospital and Health Institution Management from Beykent University.

The specialist reached the rank of Associate Professor at Bezmialem Vakif University in 2017. He currently serves at Hisar Hospital Intercontinental in Istanbul. His previous work includes roles at Elbistan State Hospital and the Ministry of Health.

Research and Recognition

Dr. Yildirim has won prizes for his research on olfactory function and nasal mechanics. His published work covers ENT topics such as nasal muscle electromyography. He also investigates the relationship between smell loss and Parkinson’s disease.
