Professor of Medicine, Head of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Faculty of Medicine, Vienna Medical University. Served in multiple organizations, such as the Endocrinology Section of the European Union of Medical Specialists and the Austrian Society of Endocrinology. Over 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals covering the areas of clinical, fundamental, and translational research.

Dr. is a Team Leader in Surgical Endocrinology at the Medical University of Vienna. He is a specialist in general and visceral surgery and has completed a Doctorate in Medicine (2005). He has organized several conferences and is a member of several medical societies. He is currently the Head of the Surgical Endocrinology Working Group at the Medical University of Vienna. He received the Venia Docendi Award in 2017 and the Sandoz Award for Thyroid Research in 2010.

He completed his medical education at Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine between 2005-2011 and his specialization education at Kocatepe University Faculty of Medicine between 2013-2018. He successfully passed the board of the Turkish Surgical Society in 2018, and became the 3rd in Turkey in the minor medical specialization exam. He earned the title of Surgical Oncologist with the education he received at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine between 2018-2021.

Op. Dr. Necdet Derici was born in Konya Beyşehir in March 1971. He completed his primary school in Beyşehir. Then, he moved to Konya, Ereğli for his secondary and high school education. He graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1995. Between 1995 and 1999, he worked as an assistant doctor at Istanbul Training and Research Hospital. In his next career step, he joined Istanbul Training and Research Hospital as a General Surgery Specialist and worked from 2000 to 2009. He specialized in Endocrine Surgery (Goiter, Surreal, Parathyroid Surgery), Laparoscopic Surgery (Laparoscopic Obesity, Colon Surgery, Stomach Surgery, Hernia Surgery, Appendectomy, Hiatus Hernia, cholecystectomy), Gastrointestinal Surgery (Stomach Cancer and Ulcers, Colon Cancers, Bile duct Surgery) and Endoscopy.
