The doctor is an awarded pediatric oncologist specializing in bone and soft tissue sarcomas. As the head of the Hematology Oncology Department at Sant Joan De Déu, a leading children's hospital in Europe, the doctor provides treatments for neuroblastomas, gliomas, Ewing's sarcomas, and Wilms' tumors.
Trained in the USA, the doctor completed fellowships in pediatric hematology oncology and molecular pathology of pediatric cancer at Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The doctor has authored over 70 papers and developed a non-radiative treatment for spinal cord gliomas.
