Additional information

The operation is completed in twenty minutes.
You will be asked to rest for half an hour after the operation.
You will be asked to come for a check-up 1 day after the operation.
Our patients are generally comfortable because the surgeries are usually performed with numbing anesthetic drops.
Three to four days after the operation, the person can return to work.
If you work in a dusty environment, you should rest for at least two weeks.
Do not drive on the day of surgery to minimize recovery time and complications.
Avoid bathing for 4 days to minimize the risk of infection.
We ask you not to enter the pool and the sea for 2 weeks.
Avoid activities such as lifting heavy objects and bending over for several weeks.
Do not rub your eyes after surgery.
Take the eye drops prescribed by your doctor.
Shortly after the surgery, most of our patients report that their vision has improved. However, recovery continues the week after surgery and vision continues to improve.
The surgically placed artificial intraocular lens replaces the natural lens and is not on the surface.
So you can't feel this lens like a contact lens. It is designed to last a lifetime.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Satici's Private Practice

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) with Trifocal or EDOF IOL implantation is a vision correction procedure. It’s offered at Private Bilge Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. The cost starts at $2600 USD per eye. This procedure boasts the expertise of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Satici, an ophthalmologist with 32 years of experience.

RLE is a good option for those seeking an alternative to LASIK. It involves replacing your natural lens with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Trifocal and EDOF IOLs offer excellent vision at all distances – near, intermediate, and far. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Satici has performed over 1,100 successful RLE surgeries.

What to Expect

The procedure itself takes around 30 minutes per eye. You’ll receive a comprehensive eye exam and IOL Master measurement before surgery. The package includes a consultation with Prof. Dr. Satici, all necessary eye tests, local anesthesia, the IOL implantation, and follow-up exams. You'll also have access to language assistance and text consultations.

The recommended stay in Turkey is 6 days. Post-operative care includes a follow-up examination about 15 minutes after the procedure. The package price of $2600 USD covers one eye with a Trifocal/EDOF IOL. For both eyes, the cost is $5200 USD. Cash payment is recommended to avoid a 20% surcharge on card transactions.

This is an important factor to consider for anyone planning to visit this area and in need of medical care
During my hospital visit, I had an extremely unpleasant experience. None of the staff spoke English, making it nearly impossible to express my concerns and questions. Even worse, they refused to accept card payments and instead provided third-party payment details, which triggered significant financial alarm. To add insult to injury, I was required to provide a $200 cash deposit, which I later found out was non-refundable. This is utterly unfair and unacceptable. It left me feeling financially and emotionally upset, and I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. Clear communication and fair payment practices are fundamental aspects of any healthcare facility, and this hospital failed miserably in both regards. Beyond communication and payment issues, I should mention that the hospital was located in an area completely unsuitable for tourists. This made the overall impression even more distressing. Visitors to a foreign country expect healthcare facilities to be accessible and welcoming, but this hospital was located in such a way that made it extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable for travelers. This is an important factor to consider for anyone planning to visit this area and in need of medical care.

Much better vision
I need to have glasses for reading near-vision. I knew this was coming because of my age, but I was okay before the operation
