The surgery takes about 1 to 2 hours under general anesthesia. Patients stay in the hospital for 1 night after the procedure for monitoring. The doctor uses self-absorbing internal stitches, so there is no need to remove sutures later. Most patients can return to desk work within 7 to 10 days, though heavy lifting must wait for about a month.

Preparation and Recovery
Patients should arrive in Istanbul a day before the surgery for blood tests. You must stop smoking at least 2 weeks before the operation and avoid food or drink for 8 hours before the start. After the surgery, you will wear a compression garment to help with healing. It is important to avoid raising your arms above shoulder level for the first 3 to 4 weeks. Walking is encouraged soon after surgery to help blood flow, but upper-body workouts should be avoided for 4 to 6 weeks.
