Additional information
HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) is a minimally invasive procedure performed under general or spinal anesthesia to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) regardless of prostate volume. Using a laser through the urethra, the surgeon completely dissects and removes the obstructing prostate tissue (adenoma). Patients usually go home the same day or after a 1–2 day stay.
HoLEP is a highly effective, once-in-a-lifetime procedure for BPH, offering advantages over conventional TURP, including a lower bleeding risk, faster recovery and complete removal of the adenoma, and therefore no recurrence. It provides long-lasting, usually permanent relief from urinary symptoms. The price of the procedure often depends on the size of the prostate: larger glands require longer operative time, more laser energy and potentially more complex care.
The procedure is performed by an experienced urology specialist in a large private multi-specialty hospital in Warsaw, Poland – LUX MED St. Elizabeth's Hospital, which, along with the entire LUX MED Group, is part of the international Bupa group, a leading healthcare provider and insurer worldwide.
The package price may not include all diagnostic and treatment costs, as these depend on the specific case and the doctor's recommendations. In the event of additional costs, the patient will be asked to accept them on a case-by-case basis.
