Holding a PhD with honors, the doctor serves as the Director of the Sports Injuries Department at Olympion Medical Center. With a strong academic background and international recognition, the doctor has authored 25 peer-reviewed articles and provides expert medical consultancy for professional sports organizations.

Olympion Sports Medicine and Joint Reconstruction Clinic is a private clinic in Patras, Greece, specializing in orthopedic surgery, trauma care, hand surgery, spine and neurosurgery and sports medicine, with a focus on robotic knee and hip reconstruction, shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder and ankle. Founder Dr. Andreas X. Papadopoulos leads the Sports Injuries Unit at Olympion Medical Center, has more than 20 years of experience and has performed over 6,000 surgeries; the department carries out 200-250 major operations a year using the CORI robotic system for total knee replacement and the Naviswiss system for robotic hip navigation.
International patients receive all-inclusive care packages covering surgery, implants and post-operative physiotherapy, with a recommended stay of 10-14 days for major reconstructive procedures and 3-5 days for arthroscopic treatments.
