The treatment consists of placing four dental implants per arch. Bone grafting may or may not be performed during the surgery if necessary. In many cases (depending on the specific situation), the patient will need to follow postoperative instructions such as a soft diet and take prescribed medications. Three to four months later, the patient must return for the fabrication and placement of a screw-retained prosthesis to restore function, aesthetics, and oral health. In the interim, the patient will use an acrylic prosthesis as temporary teeth.
