This is the place where I spend most of my life carrying out the surgical side of psychiatry. As I’ve always defined the specialty, from which I enjoy my vocation of service: “reconstructive plastic surgery.” My life, changing particular worlds through the treatment of both congenital abnormalities and those acquired over time—previous surgeries, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and so on—meaning the restoration of tissues to their proper place while respecting function and aesthetics. I went for the first time at 25 and now I’m almost 50, and it really feels like it was yesterday. Whenever I can improve something that I’m not happy with—whatever it may be, from surgery to a small procedure or treatment—and of course I can, I come with my eyes closed as if for me there were no other clinic and no other doctor. With blind trust and, on top of that, happy to see them all—the doctor and the staff—because they’re wonderful: both in professionalism and as people. You feel like they’re part of your family. They’re the kind of people you can tell really believe in their work and love what they do.
