My surgeon was excellent
I’ll be honest, this recovery has been more physically demanding and difficult than I anticipated so far. That said, I feel good about my decision. The surgery was liposuction with gland excision on my chest, and my surgeon was excellent. He was honest about realistic results and clearly explained the technique, the compression vest, and the recovery period. The clinic staff stayed in touch afterward, which was helpful. The only unexpected expense was for food, as the partner hotel makes you take the more expensive room service. My main advice: don’t do it alone if possible. Having someone would’ve made a lot of things easier and it won’t cost you more. Also, bring a bag with everything you need and put it on the table; I really struggled getting around at first.
Coordinator (Ege) is very nice and helpful, nice guy. Dr Ergin was also very relaxed, calm and knowledgeable, so you are put at ease very quickly. You get your own room, and if you have a partner come they are full supported and have a sofa bed there too (I was solo and would recommend not to do it solo)
Really only 2 negatives otherwise very good - Right at the start when the cannula was put in, I told them I was bad with needles / blood / vein related activity, but they didn’t understand. So I had to lay down, but still needed to sign the anaesthesia documents. After 5 mins I got up, went light headed, tried to get back to the bed, past out and banged my head on something as I went down and woke up panicked on the floor alone. This was a translation issue, but it was kind of a shaking experience right at the start. The other was the sleep sedative not working for 2-3 hours, not much sleep nor pain relief at that point.
