Deviated septum Treatment in Otorrino Bogotá

About the clinic

Otorrino Bogotá in Bogotá, Colombia, assesses deviated septums and offers functional and reconstructive nose surgery. An otolaryngologist performs nasal surgery, addressing breathing function and nasal shape together.

Assessment and diagnosis

Dr. Germán Bernal Trujillo, an otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon, leads the medical team. He is a member of the Colombian Association of Otorhinolaryngology.

The first visit includes a review of medical history and an examination. In-office nasal endoscopy can support diagnosis during the same visit.

  • ENT consultation: A specialist examines the patient and discusses diagnosis and treatment options.
  • Nasofibrolaryngoscopy: An endoscopic examination available at the clinic.
  • Nasosinuscopia: A nasal and sinus examination available at the clinic.
  • Pharyngeal endoscopy: An examination of the throat.
  • Virtual rhinoplasty consultation: An online consultation based on photos.

Surgery for nasal function and shape

The clinic treats deviated septums and nasal polyps. Its surgical options include nose procedures and endoscopic sinus surgery.

  • Functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty: This procedure addresses nasal shape and breathing in one operation. It may be considered for breathing difficulty caused by nasal changes or for revision rhinoplasty.
  • Reconstructive and functional nose surgery: This surgery restores nasal function while correcting structural deformities.
  • Endoscopic sinus surgery: A minimally invasive procedure treats inflammatory and benign or malignant sinus conditions through the nose using an endoscope.

Rhinoplasty may be combined with blepharoplasty, mentoplasty, or submental liposuction during one surgical session. Functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty includes pre-operative assessment, a case-specific surgical plan, and post-operative control visits. Flights and accommodation are not included.

Aftercare following nose surgery

After surgery, patients attend scheduled control visits. The care plan may include prescribed pain relief and decongestants.

  • Apply ice to the face three times daily for the first three days.
  • Avoid contact sports, swimming, running, and heavy housework until cleared.
  • Avoid alcohol for two weeks and smoking for the first months.
  • Sleep on the back, avoid sun exposure for three weeks, and do not blow the nose.
  • Sneeze with the mouth open, and do not remove dressings or packing without approval.

Patients can request a consultation through Bookimed to discuss assessment and treatment options.

Otorrino Bogotá: more details about the clinic

Colombia, Bogota

Otorrino Bogotá is a private ENT practice in Bogotá, Colombia. It operates within the Centro Médico Dalí and focuses on ear, nose, and throat care, laryngology, and facial plastic surgery. Dr. Germán Bernal Trujillo leads the facility. The center treats patients of all ages, from children to older adults.

Medical Specializations and Patient Focus

The clinic uses a multidisciplinary model to address head and neck disorders. Care is delivered through a single, specialized unit. The medical team treats several common and complex conditions:

  • Nasal congestion and chronic sinusitis
  • Deviated septums and nasal polyps
  • Voice and swallowing disorders
  • Airway-related problems and adenoids

Each patient follows a structured pathway during their visit. The specialist reviews medical history and performs a physical exam. If needed, the doctor runs in-office tests to confirm a diagnosis. This process ends with a treatment plan and case-specific instructions.

Advanced ENT and Laryngology Services

Otorrino Bogotá offers surgical and non-surgical ENT solutions. The clinic specializes in laryngology for voice and throat disorders. Surgical options include voice surgery (phonosurgery) and reconstructive procedures. Surgeons perform both open and endoscopic surgeries on the larynx and vocal cords.

The clinic also provides specialized surgery for dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). For oncologic cases, the team performs endoscopic laryngeal surgery.

Nasal and sinus care is a flagship area for the practice. The clinic performs endoscopic sinus surgery for inflammatory and tumor-related conditions. This method treats both benign and malignant tumors while minimizing trauma. The surgical team also handles complex skull base surgery. Ear and pharynx surgeries are available for functional and reconstructive needs.

Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine

The clinic takes a functional approach to facial aesthetics. An otolaryngologist performs nasal surgeries, so respiratory health and appearance stay balanced. Procedures include functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), and mentoplasty (chin surgery). Submental liposuction is also available for contouring the area under the chin.

Non-surgical aesthetic procedures are performed in the consultation setting. These treatments offer alternatives to invasive surgery for facial rejuvenation:

  • Facial fillers using hyaluronic acid
  • Botulinum toxin injections for facial wrinkles
  • Facial mesotherapy for skin revitalization

These procedures allow targeted corrections with minimal downtime.

Diagnostic Technologies and Methods

The facility is equipped for in-office diagnostic exams. These tools allow immediate assessment during the initial consultation:

  • Nasofibrolaryngoscopy for viewing the nose and throat
  • Laryngeal stroboscopy to evaluate vocal cord vibration
  • Nasosinuscopia and pharyngeal endoscopy
  • Otoscopy and audiometry for ear and hearing health

Specialists also perform cerumen removal to clear ear canal blockages.

Services for International Patients

Otorrino Bogotá offers remote coordination for patients outside the city. Online consultations are available for those seeking rhinoplasty. Patients can request a virtual assessment by submitting photos through the clinic's platform. Payments for remote services are accepted via PayPal.

The clinic uses WhatsApp and Doctoralia for digital appointment scheduling. After surgery, the team provides structured follow-up through scheduled control visits.

There’s everything—each floor has a specialist.

Sorry to say it this way, but the administration has stones in its head. How is it possible that someone who comes on a motorcycle can’t enter the offices with their own helmet? It makes no sense at all. And the worst part is you have to keep it somewhere or they won’t let you in—there are lockers, but there are only 3. Honestly, that policy is absurd.

Bad care and the surgeons are very awful.

If the building has a motorcycle, it won’t let you go up with helmets. They tell you to leave them in the cafeteria; don’t be late. My appointment was for 30 minutes and they charged me 3000 for leaving the helmets. The parking is very good, but they shouldn’t charge for leaving helmets—they should put up a holder/support to leave the helmets.
